Electrical conductivity of the electrodeposited copper powder filled lignocellulose composites

AB  - This article deals with the synthesis and characterization of electroconductive composite materials prepared by the compression molding of mixtures of lignocellulose and electrochemically deposited copper powder under different pressures, as well as with the investigation of the influence of particle morphology on conductivity and the percolation threshold of obtained composites. Electrodeposited copper powder content varied from 1.9-29.4 vol%. The analysis of the most significant properties of prepared composites and its components included impedance spectroscopy (IS) behavior, the measurements of electrical conductivity, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and structural analysis. It has been shown that the percolation threshold (PT) depends on both particle shape and the type of spatial distribution. IS measurements and SEM analysis have shown that particles that have pronounced grain boundaries have a bit effect on the appearance of electric conductive pathways thus on the composite conductivity. The packaging effect and more pronounced interparticle contact with copper powder particles lead to the “movement” of PT, which, for the particles <45 μm and the highest processing pressure of 27 MPa, was 7.2% (v/v).
AB  - У овом раду приказана је синтеза и карактеризација електропроводних композитних материјала на бази лигноцелулoзе и електрохемијски добијеног бакарног праха добијених хладним пресовањем на различитим притисцима, као и испитивање утицаја морфологије праха на проводност и перколациони праг добијених композита. Запремински удео бакарног праха је варирао 1.9−29.4% (v/v). Анализа најзначајнијих особина припремљених композита обухватала је импедансну спектроскопију (IS), скенирајућу електронску микроскопију (SEM), мерења електричне проводности и структурну анализу. Показано је да перколациони праг (PP) зависи како од облика честица тако и од њиховог просторног уређења. IS мерења и SEM анализе су показали да морфологија честица са изражено великом границом зрна има

AB  - The relationship between the light-reflecting property generally referred to as the brightness, and structure of electrodeposits has been the subject of many investigations. These studies have led to two theories. One theory states that electrodeposits are bright if their microstructure consist of crystallites smaller than the wavelength of visible light, i.e., smaller than 0.4 micrometers. At the same time, for the surface to be bright, a roughness of less than 0.15 micrometers and 0.025 micrometers is required. The second theory states that the more oriented the grain structure, the brighter the deposit, the bnghtnes being dependent on the degree to which the morphological components of the surface of electrodeposits are in plane. On the other hand, it has been found that a major fraction of mirror-bright (Ni) metal electrodeposits exhibit no preferred orientation. Hence, both theories do not hold. The conditions which must be fulfilled in order for the metal surfaces to exhibit mirror brightness have not been classified and systematized yet. Progress in the investigation of the structure of bright metal surfaces has accelerated recently, thank to the development of the Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy (STM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) techniques. It has been shown by these techniques that the reason of the mirror brightness of electropolished copper surfaces might be that large parts of the surface consists of small, flat and mutually parallel metal crystals, which exhibit smootthness on the atomic level. For this reason, it was considered necesarry to examine whether this conclusion about the structural features of electropolished mirror bright metal surfaces is also valid and for bright metal coatings obtained by electrodeposition.

AB  - In the course of the pasteurization treatment of milk and dairy products the temperature of the technological process is kept at a constant value. The regulation of the temperature is carried out by means of technological water that comes from certain pools cooled to the temperature of 5ºC. the water heated in the process of pasteurization is sent back through steel pipes to the pool where it is cooled to the working temperature. the pools for water cooling are fitted with a bundle of pipes made of plain carbon steel that corrode over the time. the protection of pipes against corrosion is possible to be performed in two ways: by use of inhibitors and by cathodic protection. The application of either method depends on a number of factors. It is cheaper to protect new pipes from corrosion using inhibitors, whereas pipes already attacked by corrosion are more efficiently protected against further corrosion by applying the cathodic protection.
AB  - U toku postupka pasterizacije mleka i mlečnih proizvoda temperatura tehnološkog procesa održava se na konstantnoj temperaturi. Regulacija temperature se vrši pomoću tehnološke vode koja dolazi iz bazena rashlađena do temperature od 5°C. zagrejana voda iz procesa pasterizacije vraća se cevima u bazen gde se pomoću tečnog amonijaka hladi do radne temperature. U bazenima za hlađenje tehnološke vode nalazi se snop cevi od običnog čelika kroz koji prolazi tečni amonijak, a koje vremenom počinju da korodiraju. Zaštita cevi od korozije je moguća na dva načina: primenom određenih inhibitora korozije i primenom katodne zaštite. Koji će od ova dva načina da bude primenjen zavisi od više faktora. Za nove cevi je jeftinija zaštita od korozije primenom inhibitora. za cevi koje su već u upotrebi ili je kod njih počela korozija, primena katodne zaštite je efikasniji postupak dalje zaštite od korozije.

AB  - In this paper the surface roughness of silver coatings electrodeposited as final coatings onto aluminum was analyzed. The copper coating was electrodeposited as a basic coating directly onto aluminum. Afterward, nickel and copper coatings from acidic bath were deposited. Silver was electrodeposited on the acidic bath copper coating. Also the influence of fluorides in the solution for direct electro deposition of basic copper coatings on the structure of the final silver coating was investigated. The surface roughness was measured with device TR 200. Silver coatings can be successfully electrodeposited as a final coating onto aluminum with nickel and copper inter coatings.
AB  - U radu je analizirana površinska hrapavost elektrohemijski istaloženih prevlaka srebra, kao završnih prevlaka na aluminijumu. Bakarna prevlaka taložena je galvanostatski neposredno na aluminijum kao osnovna prevlaka. Nakon toga je taložena prevlake nikla i kao završna prevlaka taložena je prevlaka srebra. U radu je takođe ispitivan uticaj prisustva fluorida u elektrolitu za direktno elektrohemijsko taloženje prevlaka bakra na strukturu završne prevlake srebra. Površinska hrapavost je merena uređajem TR 200. Pokazano je da se prevlaka srebra može uspešno neposredno elektrohemijski nanositi na aluminijum kao završna prevlaka, uz prethodnu hemijsku pripremu površine i taloženjem međuprevlaka bakra i nikla.
