Poster presentation: Synthesis and characterization of Fe(III) complex with the condensation product of thiosemicarbazide and 2-acetylthiazole

Abstract

The HL ligand, (E)-2-(1-(thiazol-2-ypethylidene)hydrazine-1-carbothioamide, was obtained from the condensation reaction of thiosemicarbazide and 2-acetylthiazole in water. The reaction of the ligand HL with Fe(BF4)2.6H20 in a molar ratio 1:1 in methanol results in the formation of bis-ligand Fe(III) complex with composition [Fe(L)2]BF4.H2O. The Fe(III) ion with L form six-coordinate complexes [Fe(L)2]3F4.H20 (1) in which two deprotonated ligand molecules coordinate in a mer arrangement, forming a distorted octahedral complex by chelation through NNS sets of donor atoms. Complex crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system with space group Pbca. The asymmetric unit consists of a complex cation [Fe(L)2]+, BF4- counter anion, and one water molecule.

Лиганд (HL), (Е)-2-(1-(тиазол-2-ил)етилиден)хидразин-1-карботиоамид, добијен је у кондензационој реакцији тиосемикарбазида и 2-ацетилтиазола у води. Реакција лиганда и Fe(BF4)2•бН20 у молском односу 1: 1 у метанолу резултовалаје добијањем бис-лиганд комплекса Fe(III), формуле [Fe(L)2]BF4•Н20. Координовањем два молекула депротонованог лиганда (L), преко NNS донорског сета атома формира се mer окружење око Fe(III) јона искривљене октаедарске геометрије. Комплекс кристалише у орторомбичном кристалном систему, у просторној групи Pbca. Асиметричнајединица комплекса састоји се од комплексног катјона [Fe(L)2]+, анјона BF4- и једног молекула воде.
