Molybdenum and hydroxybenzene complexes in concentrated sulphuric acid
Abstract
It is already known [1--5] that Ti, W, V, Mo and some other metals form
coloured complexes with 1,4-benzenediol in concentrated sulphuric acid. We
have also found that hydroxybenzene has similar properties. Papers found in
the literature dealing with complex compounds of these metals with various
phenols are not numerous [6--9]. Most of them refer to spectrophotometric
investigations of the complex compounds mentioned and only one [7] deals
with polarographic investigation of the molybdenum complex with 1,4-benzenediol
in sulphuric acid of various concentrations.
