Abstract
The influence of the propionic acid as nonsolvent additive on the properties of the prepared polysulfone membranes was investigated. The obtained results show that the membranes prepared from the polymer solutions with propionic acid as nonsolvent additive have much larger water flux than those prepared from the polymer solution without propionic acid. It can be said that the propionic acid works as a pore former during the phase separation in nonsolvent bath.
