dc.description.abstractDifferential expansion of the material exposed to sunlight in partially covered archaeological sites causes stress, generates microcracks and splitting of the exterior layers of the stone. In the early morning hours and evening, the thermal gradient is lower, but the surfaces directly hit by the solar irradiation are wider, because of the inclination of the sun beams. This creates an ideal substrate for the deposition of pollutants especially in localities near the thermal power plant, as is the case with the roman town Viminacium near a thermal power plant Kostolac in Serbia. Therefore, it makes sense to automate the process of covering sites in accordance with the detection of meteorological parameters and prognosis pollutants obtained by numerical simulation. This provides the idea to protection of archaeological sites should be connected with robotics area, and cloud computing because perhaps more help to make decisions acquire information and knowledge to execute tasks through databases in the cloud. Bearing in mind that there are countries in which there are no many archaeological sites, and in accordance with this do not develop the knowledge required for such specific problems, an ideal option would be possibility use cloud database or library of skills to different environmental complexities. This would also be very important for the problem of transboundary pollution. The paper connect a problem, preliminary research and some results of numerical simulations of air pollution and pollutants on archaeological site Viminacium.sr
