Composition of the abandoned slag disposal is of the Fe-type with predominant minerals containing variable amount of the iron; the minerals with a high concentrations of S; and higher concentrations of Pb, Zn, Cu and Sb elements. Temperature of the slag crystallization is estimated to about 1230-1240 oC. The slag has been highly altered by long period of weathering and oxidation-reduction processes in acid conditions (pH ~ 3) by high sulphate activity. Surrounding area of the slag accumulation suffered substantial environmental pollution. Namely, an excessive pollution is obtained for Pb and Zn; severe pollution for Cu; moderate pollution for Cd, Co and Cr; while for Ni it is obtained low pollution level.sr
