Bifidogenic effect of a follow-on formula supplemented with prebiotics
Abstract
The bifidogenic effect is a stimulation of the growth and metabolism of bifidogenic bacteria in the gut. The aim of this study was to determine the bifidogenic effect of a follow-on formula supplemented with inulin and fructooligosaccharides (FOS), and compare it to that of human breast milk.
