Lignin depolymerization could be an important technique for the production of valuable aromatic compounds. The aim of this work was to investigate the degradation of kraft lignin by a mixed culture of fungi and to identify degradation products using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCxGC-MS).
