Упознај електрохемију кроз Београдску школу електрохемије

Abstract

Електрохемија је једна од ретких научних дисциплина у којој је Србија глобално позната. Прецизније речено, Београд и његова Школа електрохемије. Између осталог, то потврђује и чињеница да је Београд изабран за домаћина 71. годишњег састанка Међународног електрохемијског друштва (The International Society of Electrochemistry – ISE) који се одржава од 30. августа до 4. септембра 2020. године. Међутим, о електрохемији, њеним областима, значају који има у свакодневном животу, важности коју она има данас, а поготово коју ће имати у будућности, па тиме и достигнућима Београдске школе електрохемије, шира јавност мало зна. Управо зато, 13 научних организација и друштава је 29. новембра 2019. године потписало декларацију о проглашењу 2020. године, у којој је највећи светски скуп електрохемичара требало да се одржи у Београду, за Годину електрохемије у Србији, са циљем да промовише ову науку, али и мотивише младе да јој се посвете. Програм њеног обележавања је богат, од организације неколико серија предавања намењених ученицима и студентима, али и најширој јавности, преко реализације интерактивних радионица за уче нике завршних разреда средњих школа и студенте почетних година одговарајућих акултета, па до организовања научних и стручних скупова током целе године. Највећи и најзначајнији догађај постала је организација изложбе Упознај (електрохемију кроз) Београдску школу електрохемије, чији каталог држите у рукама. Постала, јер је нажалост, већина предвиђених научних скупова, па и 71. годишњи састанак ISE, отказана због пандемије Ковид 19. Како сам назив изложбе сугерише, њен циљ је двојак. Она је посвећена Београдској школи електрохемије, али и упознавању посетилаца са електрохемијском науком и тиме како и где се она налази око нас. Први део изложбе, па и овог каталога, открива шта је електрохемија и представља њене области. Аутори текстова су припадници Београдске школе електрохемије, који представљањем области којима се баве истовремено представљају и најзначајније области по којима је београдска електрохемија позната у свету. Зато ти текстови немају првенствени циљ да детаљно представе све области електрохемије, већ пре свега оно чиме се бавило и бави у Београду. Други део, и каталога и изложбе, је посвећен историји електрохемије у Београду, настанку и развоју Београдске школе електрохемије, као и људима који су њени оснивачи и најзначајнији представници.

Electrochemistry is one of the few scientific disciplines that gave Serbia global recognition. More precisely, we are talking about Belgrade and its School of Electrochemistry. Among other things, this is also confirmed by the fact that Belgrade has been selected to be the host of the 71st annual meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry – ISE, from August 30 to September 4, 2020. However, wider public is not so familiar with electrochemistry, its fields, importance in everyday life, significance that it has today and that it will have tomorrow, as well as the achievements of the Belgrade School of Electrochemistry. That is exactly the reason why on November 29, 2019, 13 scientific organisations and societies signed the Declaration of establishing the year 2020, when the largest global gathering of electrochemists was supposed to take place, as the Year of Electrochemistry in Serbia, with the purpose of promoting the science, as well as motivating young people to devote to it. The rich celebration program includes several series of lectures intended for high school and university students, as well as wider public, interactive workshops for students in their final years of high school and first years of university at appropriate faculties, as well as scientific and professional conferences throughout the year. Exhibition Meet (Electrochemistry Through) Belgrade School of Electrochemistry, catalogue for which you are holding in your hands, has become the largest and the most important event. It has become that because, sadly, most of the planned scientific gatherings, including the 71st annual ISE meeting, has been cancelled due to the pandemic of Covid 19. As suggested by the title of the exhibition, its aim is twofold. It is dedicated to the Belgrade School of Electrochemistry, as well as introducing the visitors to the electrochemistry as a science and how and where to find it all around us. The first part of the exhibition, as well as this catalogue, reveals what electrochemistry is and presents its fields. Authors of the texts are members of the Belgrade School of Electrochemistry and by presenting the fields of their work, they also simultaneously present the most important areas that made the Belgrade electrochemistry globally recognized. That is why the primary goal of these texts is not to present all of the fields of electrochemistry, but rather everything that has been and still is the focus of work in Belgrade. The second part of both catalogue and the exhibition is dedicated to the history of electrochemistry in Belgrade, establishment and development of Belgrade School of Electrochemistry, as well as the people who were its founders and the most important representatives.
