AB  - The zooplankton community was analysed
in two intermittent salt lakes in Serbia – Lake
Velika and Lake Mala Rusanda. Samples were collected
twice a month during the wet phase between
March and May. A total of 15 zooplankton taxa were
identified. Crustaceans were more diverse in Lake
Mala Rusanda. The communities of both lakes were
composed mainly of cosmopolitan, generalist, euryhaline
species. Strictly haline species such as Brachionus
asplanchnoidis and Arctodiaptomus spinosus
were the dominant components of the zooplankton
communities in both lakes. Arctodiaptomus spinosus
was most abundant in March and April, accounting
for up to 50% of all zooplankton specimens found in a
sample. The proportion of juvenile stages of A. spinosus
was highest in the March and early April samples.
The ratio of males to females varied and was likely related to swarming behaviour as part of the species’
reproductive strategy.

AB  - У овом раду, анализа стабилности, пре и после примене техничких решења, је вршена
на клизишту које се налази на релацији Столице – Крупањ, у западном делу Републике
Србије. Клизиште је захватило и део саобраћајнице тако да је кретање саобраћаја било
отежано. Анализирано је више решења потпорног зида од габионских корпи и
нивелационог решења падине која је захваћена клизиштем. Одабир оптималног решења
заснован је на испуњености два критеријума: стабилност конструкције и стабилност
целокупне падине. Стабилност пре примене техничких мера и генерална стабилност
падине са примењеним мерама испитивана је методом Janbu-а, а локална стабилност
методом Bishop-а. Провера стабилности зида извршена је у погледу претурања и
хоризонталног померања. Ове анализе извршене су применом софтвера GEO5
(Geotechnical software). Аналитичким путем извршена је и анализа носивости земљишта
испод потпорних зидова методом Brinc Hansen-а. Два решења испунила су задате
критеријуме, решења I са факторм сигурности Fs = 1,81 и решење II Fs = 1,75. Анализа
носивости земљишта показала је да темељено тло може безбедно да прими оптерећење
од конструкције у случају оба решења. За оптимално решење санације клизишта
одабрано је решење II.
AB  - In this paper, the stability analysis before and after the application of technical solutions was performed on a landslide located on the Stolicе-Krupanj route, in the western part of the Republic of Serbia. The landslide also affected part of the road, so the movement of traffic was difficult. Several solutions of the gabion retaining wall and the leveling of the slope affected by the landslide were analyzed. The selection of the optimal solution is based on the fulfillment of two criteria: the stability of the structure and the stability of the entire slope. The stability before the application of technical measures and the general stability of the slope with the applied measures were examined using the Yanbu method, and the local stability using the Bishop method. The stability of the wall was checked in terms of overturning and horizontal movement. These analyzes were performed using GEO5 software (Geotechnical software). Analytical analysis of the load-bearing capacity of the soil under the retaining walls was carried out using the Brinc Hansen method. Two solutions met the set criteria, solution I with a safety factor Fs = 1.81 and solution II Fs = 1.75. The analysis of the bearing capacity of the soil showed that the foundation soil can safely receive the load from the structure in the case of both solutions. Solution II was selected for the optimal solution for landslide rehabilitation.

Artificial sandpit lake as a habitat of brackish diatom species

AB  - During a survey of diatoms in the artificial sandpit lake “Peskara” in the protected zone of the Rusanda Nature Park, a large number of brackish taxa at epipsamic and epiphytic communities were recorded (e.g. Bacillaria paxillifera, Caloneis permagna, Ctenophora pulchella, Entomoneis costata. Haslea duerrenbergiana, Navicula salinarum, Nitzschia agnita, N. filiformis, Staurophora brantii, Seminavis strigosa, Tryblionella apiculata). One new genus Seminavis and 15 diatom species were noted for the first time for the diatom flora of Serbia. Dominant taxa changed over seasons without any regularity. In spring 2021, we have observed an increased abundance of centric species Thalassiosira pseudonana and Stephanodiscus parvus while in other seasons it was difficult to discern a pattern of dominance among benthic diatoms. Metabarcoding analysis of the same sample using 18S rRNA as a gene marker confirmed the dominance of centric diatoms. This study contributes to a better understanding of brackish diatom taxa found in inland habitats, many of which can be utilized as useful tools for the ecological status assessment.

Terpene relationships among some soft and hard pine species

AB  - In this study we have reported the chemical composition of the essential oils obtained from the needles of twelve Pinus taxa, belonging to the subgenera Pinus (sections Pinus and Trifoliae) and Strobus (sect. Quinquefoliae). Monoterpenes dominated over sesquiterpenes in most of the investigated taxa of both subgenera, except in representatives of the subsection Pinaster, subgenus Pinus. α-Pinene was the most abundant terpene in eight pines, but other dominant terpenes were found in some taxa - trans-caryophyllene, germacrene D, abietadiene and β-pinene. In the subsect. Pinaster, the most dominant compounds varied from species to species. In addition, P. halepensis and P. pinaster had the highest percentage of diterpenes, while P. heldreichii was the richest in germacrene D. In the PCA and cluster analyses, three species from the subsect. Pinaster emerged as the most distant: P. halepensis, P. pinaster, and P. heldreichii. In addition, the possible taxonomic implications of the terpene profile in the analysed Pinus taxa were also discussed.
AB  - U ovom proučavanju objavili smo hemijski sastav etarskih ulja dobijenih iz iglica 12 taksona roda Pinus, koji pripadaju podrodovima Pinus
(sekcije Pinus i Trifoliae) i Strobus (sekcija Quinquefoliae). U većini istraživanih taksona monoterpeni dominiraju nad seskviterpenima kod
oba podroda, osim kod uzoraka podsekcije Pinaster podroda Pinus. α-Pinen je najobilniji kod 8 borova, ali kod nekih taksona dominantni su
trans-kariofilen, germakren D, abietadien i β-pinen. U subcekciji Pinaster dominantne komponente variraju od vrste do vrste. Nadalje, P. halepensis
i P. pinaster imaju najveći procenat diterpena, dok je P. heldreichii najbogatiji u germakrenu D. U PCA i klaster analizama pokazale su
