AB - Sn-Pd electrocatalysts with a constant atomic ratio of 60 at.% Sn‒40 at.% Pd suitable for
potential application in direct ethanol fuel cells were synthesized using a novel two-step electrodeposition method. First, Sn was electrodeposited in various forms of dendrites, from spear-like and needle-like to individual fern-like dendrites to a network of intertwined fern-like dendrites, by varying the cathodic potential and then performing electrodeposition of Pd at a constant current
density in the second step. A morphological and elemental analysis of Sn and Sn-Pd electrocatalysts was performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques, while the size of Sn dendrites was analyzed using the particle size distribution (PSD) method. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronoamperometry were applied in order to study the catalytic behavior of Sn-Pd electrocatalysts in the ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR), while CO stripping was used to estimate the antipoisoning capability of the electrocatalysts. The Sn surface morphology of the sub-layer was highly correlated with the electrocatalytic activity of the examined Sn-Pd electrocatalysts. The high activity it presented towards the EOR showed the suitability of the Sn-Pd electrocatalyst constructed from individual fern-like Sn dendrites as a sub-layer. Compared to Pd alone, this Sn-Pd catalyst showed more than 3 times higher activity and improved EOR kinetics. This enhancement in the catalytic activity of the Sn-Pd electrocatalysts is attributed to both the morphological characteristics of Sn as a sub-layer and the bifunctional effect.

corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in acid environment. Their anticorrosion
properties were studied on mild steel in 0.5 M HCl solution as corrosion
electrolyte by using usuаl grаvimеtriс and different elесtrосhemicаl techniques

using two analytical techniques, scanning electron microscopy for surface morphology
and elemental composition and atomic force microscopy. The study
has shown that the inhibiting action of these environmentally benign inhibitors
synthesized from inexpensive commercially available starting materials could
be attributed to adsorption on the metal surface.

AB - The basis of emission assessment at the Open Pit "Milojević Brdo" is to define the dust distribution depending on the wind influence and dust emitters. This paper presents the data for equipment engaged at the open pit. Through an analytical approach, the total emission of dust emitted by the mining equipment and aeolian erosion in the area of the open pit was determined. The results of this analysis represent a prediction of the state of dust impact on the environment during the exploitation process at the open pit.

AB - Four 2-thiohydantoin derivatives were synthesized and their corrosion inhibition properties on mild
steel (MS) in 0.5M HCl solution was evaluated using usual gravimetric and electrochemical methods (weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Morphology of the metal surface was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The study has shown that these compounds provide good protection for mild steel against corrosion in the acidic medium.

AB - The problem of subsidence and damages on buildings above mining works is an inevitable consequence of underground coal
mining in large mining basins. Significant development of various methods for prediction of the displacement parameters of
the undermined terrain took place in the period from the middle of the last to the beginning of this century. In this paper, a
new mathematical model of the stochastic Pataric-Stojanovic method for the predictive subsidence calculation is developed.
A case study, as an example for the practical application of the proposed stochastic method, is given for the underground
coal mine “Rembas”- Resavica, Serbia. An original MITSOUKO program package, supported by spatial analyses in the
Geographic Information System (GIS), was developed for the predictive subsidence calculation based on the stochastic
method proposed by the authors Pataric and Stojanovic. The comparative analysis of predicted and measured subsidence
values confirms the possibility of using this stochastic method for predictive subsidence calculation in practice, which is a
necessity of modern mining.

AB - The electrorefining process of the non-commercial Cu anodes was tested on the enlarged laboratory equipment over 72 h. Cu anodes with Ni content of 5 or 10 wt.% and total content of Pb, Sn, and Sb of about 1.5 wt.% were used for the tests. The real waste solution of sulfuric acid character was a working electrolyte of different temperatures (T1 = 63 ± 2 °C and T2 = 73 ± 2 °C). The current density of 250 A/m2 was the same as in the commercial process. Tests were confirmed that those anodes can be used in the commercial copper electrorefining process based on the fact that the elements from anodes were dissolved, the total anode passivation did not occur, and copper is deposited onto cathodes. The masses of cathode deposits confirmed that the Cu ions from the electrolyte were also deposited onto cathodes. The concentration of Cu, As, and Sb ions in the electrolyte was decreased. At the same time, the concentration of Ni ions was increased by a maximum of up to 129.27 wt.%. The major crystalline phases in the obtained anode slime, detected by the X-ray diffraction analyses, were PbSO4, Cu3As, SbAsO4, Cu2O, As2O3, PbO, SnO, and Sb2O3.
