AB  - Electric vehicles have become increasingly popular in recent years due to general global
warming but also due to technological advances, cost reductions, increased battery charging capabilities,
etc. In order to achieve the most outstanding possible efficiency of the vehicle, the thermal
management system of electric vehicles must be efficient throughout the year. One of the problems
is that the temperature distribution in the induction motor is not uniform, so that local overheating
can occur. Thermoelectric materials make it possible to convert a temperature gradient into electrical
energy. The material properties of the motor impose a temperature limit. This paper will describe
the materials used for TEE and their impact on the efficiency of electric vehicles. A thermal
model represents the temperature distribution within the induction motor, batteries and the entire
vehicle, as well as problems that may occur during operation. Convective heat transfer plays an important
role in better performance in battery cell development. In particular, the effect of temperature
has a significant impact on the behaviour of the battery during acceleration and regenerative
braking events. This paper investigates the temperature distribution inside the battery.
AB  - Električna vozila poslednjih godina postaju sve popularnija usled opšteg globalnog zagrevanja, ali
i usled napretka tehnologije, smanjenja troškova, povećavanja mogućnosti punjenja baterija itd. Za
postizanje što veće efikasnosti vozila potrebno je da sistem termičkog upravljanja električnim
vozilima bude efikasan tokom cele godine. Jedan od problema je da raspodela temperature u
pogonskom motoru nije ravnomerna pa može doći do lokalnog pregrevanja. Termoelektrični
materijali omogućavaju pretvaranje temperaturnog gradijenta u električnu energiju. Svojstva
materijala motora nameću temperaturnu granicu. U ovom radu biće opisani materijali koje se
koriste za termoelektrične elemente i njihov uticaj na efikasnost električnih vozila. Termalni model
se koristi da bi se predstavila distribuciju temperature unutar indukcionog motora, baterija i celog
vozila, kao i problemi koji se mogu javiti tokom rada. Konvektivni prenos toplote ima važnu ulogu
za što bolje performanse u razvoju baterijske ćelije. Posebno, raspodela toplote ima značajan uticaj
na ponašanje baterije tokom događaja ubrzanja i regenerativnog kočenja. U ovom radu se istražuje
i analizira distribucija temperature unutar baterije.

AB  - Heat exchangers used in agricultural processes are mainly manufactured by three technologies: brazed copper-brass, mechanically assembled aluminum and brazed aluminum. The appropriate choice depends on various criteria: price, weight, corrosion resistance, performance in a limited volume, required pressure drops, temperature resistance, reliability, etc. Brazed aluminum is increasingly popular due to several advantages, such as resistance to high pressure and temperatures. Aluminum heat exchangers can be exposed to external and internal corrosion in various environmental conditions. Corrosion has a negative impact on the mechanical integrity and thermal performance of heat exchangers. Therefore, specific operating design parameters, as well as mechanical design characteristics, are of great importance for consideration in construction. Proper selection and design can ensure the successful and safe operation of the heat exchanger and the plant itself. The HVAC industry is directed towards the search for the best solutions in order to increase the performance, energy efficiency and durability of the equipment while reducing the costs of their production. Aluminum pipes and other aluminum components are increasingly replacing copper pipes. In this paper, application, design, assembling process and operation considerations for brazed aluminum heat exchangers used for needs in agricultural processes have presented.

AB  - Microstructure, phase transitions and thermal properties including thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity of four Ag–Ge alloys with 20, 40, 60 and 80 at % of Ge were experimentally investigated in this study. Observation and analysis of the alloy microstructures and morphologies of (Ge) phase in the hypereutectic alloys were carried out using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry (SEM–EDS). Phase transitions of the alloys were studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Experimentally determined temperature of the eutectic reaction was 650.9 °C. The xenon flash method was used for thermal diffusivity measurements in the temperature range from 25 to 400 °C. Based on the measured values of thermal diffusivity, thermal conductivity of the solid Ag–Ge alloys was determined. It was found that both thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity show a minimum at 20 at % Ge which is close to the eutectic composition. The obtained results were compared with the results of thermodynamic calculation and literature data, and a close agreement was observed.

Thermal transport properties and microstructure of the solid Bi-Cu alloys

AB  - Thermal transport properties of solid Bi-Cu alloys have been investigated over a wide composition range and temperature range ranging from 25 to 250 °C. The flash method was used to determine thermal diffusivity. Thermal diffusivity was discovered to decrease continuously with increasing temperature and bismuth content. The indirect Archimedean method was used to determine the density of the Bi-Cu alloys at 25 °C. The obtained results show that the density of the studied alloys decreases slightly as the copper content increases. Thermal conductivity of the alloys was calculated using measured diffusivity, density, and a calculated specific heat capacity. The thermal conductivity of the studied Bi-Cu alloys decreases with increasing temperature and bismuth content, similar to thermal diffusivity. SEM with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to examine the microstructure and melting behavior of Bi-Cu alloys, respectively. The eutectic temperature was measured to be 269.9±0.1 °C, and the measured phase transition temperatures and heat effects were compared to thermodynamic calculations using the CALPHAD method.

Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis of mechanochemical transformation kinetics of sodium carbonate to bicarbonate

AB  - During mechanical activation, qualitative changes that can produce various phenomena occur in the material. In this study, anhydrous sodium carbonate was mechanically activated for 2, 7, 14, and 28 minutes in a vibro mill at a frequency of 3000 oscillations per minute. After activation, four series of activated samples were stored in the air at room conditions for 31 days (relaxation period). To monitor the kinetics of the transformation process of activated sodium carbonate samples, i.e. the mechanism of sodium bicarbonate formation during relaxation, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis was used. FTIR testing was performed as a function of relaxation time for all four series of samples, with characteristic groups observed: CO32-, HCO3- and OH-. The obtained results provided kinetics parameters for the transformation of sodium carbonate into sodium bicarbonate due to the chemisorption of moisture and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
AB  - Током механичке активације у материјалу се јављају квалитативне  промене које могу произвести различите појаве. У овој студији, анхидровани натријум  карбонат је механички активиран током 2, 7, 14 и 28 минута у вибро млину при  фреквенцији од 3000 осцилација у минути. Након активације, четири серије  активираних узорака су чуване на ваздуху у собним условима 31 дан (период  релаксације). За праћење кинетике процеса трансформације узорака активираног  натријум карбоната, односно механизма формирања натријум бикарбоната током  релаксације, коришћена је FTIR спектроскопска анализа. Испитивање је извршено у  функцији времена релаксације за све четири серије узорака, посматрањем  карактеристичних група: CO3 2- , HCO3- и OH- . На основу резултата, добијени су  кинетички параметри трансформације натријум карбоната у натријум бикарбонат  услед хемисорпције влаге и угљен-диоксида из атмосфере.

abstract = "During mechanical activation, qualitative changes that can produce various phenomena occur in the material. In this study, anhydrous sodium carbonate was mechanically activated for 2, 7, 14, and 28 minutes in a vibro mill at a frequency of 3000 oscillations per minute. After activation, four series of activated samples were stored in the air at room conditions for 31 days (relaxation period). To monitor the kinetics of the transformation process of activated sodium carbonate samples, i.e. the mechanism of sodium bicarbonate formation during relaxation, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis was used. FTIR testing was performed as a function of relaxation time for all four series of samples, with characteristic groups observed: CO32-, HCO3- and OH-. The obtained results provided kinetics parameters for the transformation of sodium carbonate into sodium bicarbonate due to the chemisorption of moisture and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere., Током механичке активације у материјалу се јављају квалитативне  промене које могу произвести различите појаве. У овој студији, анхидровани натријум  карбонат је механички активиран током 2, 7, 14 и 28 минута у вибро млину при  фреквенцији од 3000 осцилација у минути. Након активације, четири серије  активираних узорака су чуване на ваздуху у собним условима 31 дан (период  релаксације). За праћење кинетике процеса трансформације узорака активираног  натријум карбоната, односно механизма формирања натријум бикарбоната током  релаксације, коришћена је FTIR спектроскопска анализа. Испитивање је извршено у  функцији времена релаксације за све четири серије узорака, посматрањем  карактеристичних група: CO3 2- , HCO3- и OH- . На основу резултата, добијени су  кинетички параметри трансформације натријум карбоната у натријум бикарбонат  услед хемисорпције влаге и угљен-диоксида из атмосфере.",

Investigation of the impact of mechanical activation on synthesis of the MgO-TiO2 system

AB  - In this study, a mixture of magnesium oxide and titanium dioxide was mechanically activated in order to investigate the possibility of mechanochemical synthesis of magnesium titanate. Mechanical activation was performed for 1000 min in a high-energy vibro mill (type MH954/3, KHD Humboldt Wedag AG, Germany). The mill is equipped with housing having a horizontally placed shutter. The cylindrical stainless steel working vessel, with inner dimensions of 40 mm in height and 170 mm in diameter, has working elements consisting of two free concentric stainless steel rings with a total weight of 3 kg. The engine power is 0.8 kW. Respecting the optimal amount of powder to be activated of 50-150 g and the stoichiometric ratio of the reactants in the equation presenting the chemical reaction of magnesium titanate synthesis, the starting amounts were 20.2 g (0.5 mol) of MgO and 39.9 g (0.5 mol) TiO2. During the experiments, X-ray diffraction analysis of the samples taken from the reaction system after 60, 180, 330, and 1000 min of mechanical activation was performed. Atomic absorption spectrophotometry was used for chemical composition analysis of samples taken at different activation times. Based on the X-ray diffraction analysis results, it can be concluded that the greatest changes in the system took place at the very beginning of the mechanical activation due to the disturbance of the crystal structure of the initial components. X-ray diffraction analysis of the sample after 1000 min of activation showed complete amorphization of the mixture, but diffraction maxima characteristic for magnesium titanate were not identified. Therefore, the mechanical activation experiments were stopped. Evidently, the energy input was not sufficient to overcome the energy barrier to form a new chemical compound-magnesium titanate. The failure to synthesize magnesium titanate is explained by the low negative Gibbs energy value of-25.8 kJ/mol (despite the theoretical possibility that the reaction will happen), as well as by the amount of mechanical energy entered into the system during activation which was insufficient to obtain the reaction product. Although the synthesis of MgTiO3 was not achieved, significant results were obtained which identify models for further investigations of the possibility of mechanochemical reactions of alkaline earth metals and titanium dioxide.
AB  - U ovom radu izvršen je pokušaj mehanohemijske sinteze magnezijum titanata u visokoenergetskom mlinu sa torzionim oprugama i prstenastim radnim elementima. Teorijski, hemijska reakcija je moguća samo ako je Gibsova slobodna energija te reakcije negativna, odnosno ako je energetski sadržaj produkata reakcije na nižem nivou od energetskog sadržaja reaktanata. Na osnovu rezultata dobijenih u ovom istraživanju može se zaključiti da i pored dovedene mehaničke energije u sistem, prisutna slobodna energija nije bila dovoljna da se odigra reakcija između MgO i TiO2 i dobije magnezijum titanat kao produkt. Mehanička energija koja je predata reakcionom sistemu u mehano-hemijskom aktivatoru dovela je do rušenja kristalne strukture i amorfizacije reaktanata, što se vidi na prikazanim diftaktogramima, ali nije bila dovoljna za sintezu magnezijum titanata prema jednačini (1), pa bi u tom cilju bilo neophodno koristiti energetski jači uređaj koji bi polaznim komponentama predao veći sadržaj energije, čime bi se preskočila energetska barijera i omogućilo polaznim oksidima da uđu u hemijsku reakciju tokom mehaničke aktivacije.

Effect оf delamination оn physico-chemical properties оf kaolin

AB  - To provide the quality required for its use, raw kaolin must be subjected to certain processing procedures like delamination which is applied to the layered structure materials. The aim of this research is to determine the possibility of performing delamination in the extruder and to estimate the effects of this process on the physico-chemical properties of kaolin. The results showed that delamination can be efficiently realized in the extruder by shearing densely packed layers under the influence of friction force and added Na2 CO3 electrolyte. The crystal structure of the system was thus disrupted. This was confirmed by the Hinckley index (HI) decrease and by the dilatometric characteristics changes during heating. The particle size was reduced and, furthermore, new adsorption centers were formed, which led to an increase in the total cation exchange capacity (CEC). The plasticity of kaolin decreased with the increasing delamination degree, as well as the amount of water required for plastic processing, which is favorable in drying ceramic products.

AB  - The problem of subsidence and damages on buildings above mining works is an inevitable consequence of underground coal
mining in large mining basins. Significant development of various methods for prediction of the displacement parameters of
the undermined terrain took place in the period from the middle of the last to the beginning of this century. In this paper, a
new mathematical model of the stochastic Pataric-Stojanovic method for the predictive subsidence calculation is developed.
A case study, as an example for the practical application of the proposed stochastic method, is given for the underground
coal mine “Rembas”- Resavica, Serbia. An original MITSOUKO program package, supported by spatial analyses in the
Geographic Information System (GIS), was developed for the predictive subsidence calculation based on the stochastic
method proposed by the authors Pataric and Stojanovic. The comparative analysis of predicted and measured subsidence
values confirms the possibility of using this stochastic method for predictive subsidence calculation in practice, which is a
necessity of modern mining.

Structural and thermal properties of Sn–Ag alloys

AB  - Microstructure and thermal properties of slowly cooled Sn–10% Ag and Sn–20% Ag alloys were experimentally investigated in this study. It was found that microstructure of the studied alloys is composed of large, plate-like grains of Ag3Sn intermetallic phase in the Sn-rich eutectic matrix. Phase transition temperatures and corresponding heat effects were experimentally determined and compared with the results of thermodynamic and phase equilibria calculations using the CALPHAD (CALculation of PHAse Diagrams) method and optimized thermodynamic parameters from literature. The xenon flash method was employed for the measurements of thermal diffusivity and determination of thermal conductivity in the temperature range from 25 to 150 °C. The results show that the thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity gradually decrease with increasing temperature. The determined values of thermal conductivities of the investigated alloys are very close to each other and only slightly higher than that of pure tin. The contributions of electrons and phonons to the thermal conductivity of the studied alloys at room temperature were determined using the Wiedemann-Franz law and the obtained values of the thermal and electrical conductivities. The percentage contributions of the phonon component to the thermal conductivity for Sn–10% Ag and Sn–20% Ag alloys at 25 °C were found to be 20.5% and 28.9%, respectively.

AB  - The mechanical activation of the starting mixtures of cordierite (2MgO*2Al2O3*5SiO2) with 5.00 mass % TiO2 was performed in a high energy ball mill during 10-80 min. The applied compaction pressure before the sintering process was 2t/cm2. The sintering process was performed at 1350°C for 2h and 4h in air atmosphere. Scanning electron microscopy was performed to analyze the microstructure of both compacted and sintered samples. Atomic force microscope was used to investigate the surface of the sintered samples. This paper investigates the influence of prolonged sintering time on the densities of the sintered samples, along with electrical properties.
AB  - Mehanička aktivacija početnih smeša kordierita (2MgO*2Al2O3*5SiO2) sa 5.00 mas. % TiO2 izvršena je u visokoenergetskom mlinu sa kuglama tokom 10-80 min. Primenjeni pritisak presovanja pre procesa sinterovanja bio je 2 t/cm2. Proces sinterovanja je izveden na 1350 °C tokom 2h i 4h u vazdušnoj atmosferi. Skenirajuća elektronska mikroskopija je izvršena u cilju analize mikrostrukture presovanih i sinterovanih uzoraka. Za ispitivanje površine sinterovanih uzoraka korišćen je mikroskop atomskih sila. Ovaj rad istražuje uticaj produženog vremena sinterovanja na gustinu sinterovanih uzoraka zajedno sa električnim svojstvima.

FTIR spectroscopy analysis of mechanochemically activated Na2CO3 during relaxation time

AB  - Sodium carbonate was mechanically activated for 7 minutes in a vibro mill at a frequency of 3000 oscillations per minute. Activated samples were stored in the air at room conditions for 31 days. To monitor the kinetics of the transformation process of sodium carbonate to bicarbonate, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis was used and was performed as a function of relaxation time for characteristic groups observed: CO3 2–, HCO3 – and OH–. The obtained results provided kinetics parameters for the transformation of carbonate into bicarbonate as a result of chemisorption of moisture and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

AB  - Low-melting alloys, based on bismuth and indium, have found commercial use in soldering, safety devices, coatings, and bonding applications. In this respect, the accurate knowledge of their thermal properties such as melting and solidification temperatures, latent heat of melting, supercooling tendency, etc. is of large importance. In the present research, low-melting alloy with nominal composition Bi40In40Pb20 (at. %) was investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive Xray spectrometry (EDS) and by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Microstructural and chemical (SEM-EDS) analysis has revealed the existence of two coexisting phases in the prepared alloy, which was identified as BiIn and (Pb). Melting and solidification temperatures and the related heat effects were measured by the DSC technique. The solidus temperature obtained from the DSC heating curves was 76.3 °C and the solidus temperature obtained from the corresponding DSC cooling runs was 61.2 °C. The experimentally obtained results were compared with the results of thermodynamic calculation according to CALPHAD (calculation of phase diagram) approach, and a close agreement was noticed.

Since the calculation using the equations of this method is very complex, the original computer program package with the title MITSOUKO has been purposely designed. The MITSOUKO program enables calculating at any point of the land surface and representing the results owing to the possibility of their integration and further processing in the Geographical Information System (GIS). The components of the GIS are used to realize the spatial analysis.
