AB  - Phase equilibria in the Bi-Cu-Ni ternary system have been studied using differential thermal analysis (DTA) as well as by using the calculation of the phase diagram (CALPHAD) method. Literature experimental phase equilibria data and DTA results from this study were used for thermodynamic modeling of the Bi-Cu-Ni ternary system. Isothermal sections at 300, 400, and 500 degrees C, vertical sections from bismuth corner with molar ratio Cu:Ni = 1/3, 1/1 and 3/1 and vertical section at 40 at.% Cu were calculated and compared with corresponding experimental results. Reasonable agreement between the calculated and experimental data was observed in all cases.

AB  - Phase diagram of the ternary Bi-Sb-Zn system was investigated experimentally by DTA and SEM-EDS methods and analytically by CALPHAD method. AB  - The results of phase equilibria investigation and characterization of the alloys in the Bi-Ga10Sb90 section of Ga-Bi-Sb system are presented in this paper. In the frame of alloys characterization, structural, mechanical and electrical characteristics were determined using SEM-EDX analysis, microhardness and electroconductivity measurements.

AB  - The phase diagram of the Cu-In-Sb ternary system is of importance in predicting the interface reaction between In-based solder materials and the Cu substrate. The liquidus surface, invariant equilibria and four vertical sections of the Cu-In-Sb ternary system were calculated by the CALPHAD method using binary thermodynamic parameters included in the COST531 database. Alloys, representing two isopleths from indium corner with molar ratio of copper and antimony equal to 1/3 and 1/1 and two isopleths from antimony corner with molar ratio of indium and copper equal to 3/1 and 1/1 were measured with the DTA (Differential Thermal Analysis) and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry). The experimentally determined phase transition temperatures were compared with calculation results and good mutual agreement was noticed.

AB  - The Au-In-Sb system is of great interest recently, because its alloys belong to the group of potential lead-free solder materials to be used in electronics, while as a part of Au-ln-Sb-Te system, it presents a suitable phase change material in optical recording media. The results of phase equilibria investigation and characterization of the alloys in the AuIn-Sb section of the Au-In-Sb system are presented in this paper. The investigations were performed using different experimental methods - thermal analysis, optical microscopy and SEM-EDX, hardness and electrical conductivity measurements, and also, using ThermoCalc software based on adequate thermodynamic calculation.
