Ce-citrate as green corrosion inhibitor for low alloy steel and aluminium alloys

AB  - The efficacy of the environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor Ce-citrate (0.1-0.5 mM) was analyzed on AISI 4130 low alloy carbon steel and AA7075 aluminum alloy in 0.05 M NaCl solution. Measurements of resistance to general corrosion were performed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarization test. Resistance to pitting corrosion is determined based on the value of pitting potential Epit. For comparison, corrosion resistance measurements and pitting potential determination, for considered alloys, were performed in Ce-chloride solution. Changes on the surface of the specimens after corrosion testing were analyzed by SEM microscopy. The XPS method was used for the analyses of the formed inhibitory layer on the steel specimen surface. It has been shown that significant amounts of cerium, as well as the citrate anions, are present in the inhibitory layer. Ce-citrates have proved to be an effective corrosion inhibitor for AISI 4130 steel as well as an effective pitting corrosion inhibitor for AA7075 aluminum alloy. The mechanism of action of Ce-citrate on AISI 4130 steel and AA7075 aluminum alloy has been proposed.

AB  - Naftna platforma je velika građevina sa objektima za bušenje bušotina za istraživanje, vađenje, skladištenje i preradu nafte i prirodnog gasa koji leži u stenovitim formacijama ispod morskog dna. Bušenje na otvorenom moru predstavlja izazove za životnu sredinu. Iako, srećom, nije bilo mnogo nesreća na naftnim platformama, šteta koja nastane je ogromna i u ljudskom i u materijalnom i u smislu zaštite životne sredine. Iz tog razloga, inspekcija opreme pod pritiskom je od velikog značaja. Posude pod pritiskom mogu biti pod rizikom od degradacije materijala. Jedan od tipičnih mehanizama degradacije materijala je korozija. U ovom radu će biti prikazana važnost inspekcije opreme pod pritiskom. Na konkretnom, praktičnom primeru će biti predstavljena inspekcija cevovoda i određivanje brzine korozije i preostalog veka trajanja u cilju sprečavanja otkaza i materijalnih I ljudskih gubitaka.
AB  - The oil platform is a large structure with facilities for drilling wells for exploration, extraction, storage and refining of oil and natural gas lying in rock formations under the seabed. Offshore drilling poses environmental challenges. Although, fortunately, there have not been many accidents on oil platforms, the damage that occurs is enormous, both in human and material terms, and in terms of environmental protection. For that reason, the inspection of pressure equipment is of great importance. The risk to the pipeline in service can be failure due to material degradation. One of the typical mechanisms of material degradation is corrosion. This paper will present the importance of inspection of pressure equipment. On a concrete, practical example, pipeline inspection and determination of corrosion rate and remaining life will be presented in order to prevent failures and material and human losses.

Multidisciplinary research method for designing and selection of bio-inspired profiles in the conceptual designing stage

AB  - A multidisciplinary research method was employed with the intention to create a series of bio-inspired flattened airfoils, observe their aerodynamic characteristics, and analyse their applicability to small devices or to designs of high-speed trains, within the shortest period in the conceptual stage. A research specimen of a kingfisher, selected for biomimicry, was examined with the following methods: visual inspection, analysis of photographs, manufacturing quality control measurement with a 3D laser scanner, and microscopy. A basic multi-arc-line profile, re-engineered from the overlapped specimen shape data and based on the observations, was used for designing a series of seven derived airfoils. The aerodynamic characteristics of the bio-inspired airfoils were obtained with the panel methods at low and moderate subsonic speeds, while the small transonic difference method was used in the high-subsonic speed range. Basic and ellipse-like airfoils produce higher total drag at low and moderate velocities and higher forebody drag in the high-subsonic range when compared to derived and parabola-like airfoils. The obtained critical Mach numbers are in the range from 0.76 to 0.78, where three bionic airfoils show values equal to or smaller than the values of ellipse- and parabola-like airfoils. The profile with the shortest bio-inspired relative chord has a higher critical Mach number value than the parabola-like profile. The sonic lines above these profiles appear at close positions. The applied set of examination methods of the bio-inspired design is not time consuming and produces sufficiently good results in the conceptual stage. Therefore, a further development of unique and adjusted numerical methods and codes at pre-computational fluid dynamics run is encouraged, together with shape parameterization.

AB  - Temperature  distribution  induced  by  laser  radiation  is  a  very  important 
parameter for an efficient and safe application of lasers in different ceramic 
processing  techniques.  This  paper  presents  the  results  of  an  infrared 
thermography (IRT) application for monitoring temperature distribution on 
a ceramic surface during Nd: YAG laser irradiation with different fluences 
and 8ns pulse duration. FLIR, E40 and SC7200 IR cameras were used with 
the  aim  of  recording  the  maximum  temperature  in  the  irradiated  zones.  It 
was  expected  that  IRT  could  give  some  information  related  to  the  heat 
affected zone and possible damage to the base material; however, the results 
have  shown  that  IR  cameras,  even  those  with  high  performance  such  as 
SC7200,  cannot  record  the  maximum  temperature  value  at  the  moment  of 
laser  operation,  but  only  the  average  temperature  of  the  bulk  sample 
material  after  laser  pulses.  The  results  of  the  numerical  simulation  have 
confirmed the value of the thermographic measurements. The microstructure 
and  micromorphology  of  the  ceramic  surface  before  and  after  the  laser 
treatment  were  analysed  by  optical  and  scanning  electron  microscopy  as 
well  as  by  examining  the  roughness  of  the  irradiated  and  non-  irradiated 
surfaces,  while  the  micromechanical  changes  were  analysed  by  comparing 
the micro-hardness of the irradiated and non-exposed surfaces.

AB  - It seems that the role of lasers in heritology and art has grown more and more since the end of the 
20 th   century;  the  early  attempts  of cleaning  artistic  objects,  old  monuments  /  artifacts  during  the 
times of Hedy Lamarr and the first unsuccessful nuclear tests as well as of thinking of holographic 
records.  After  the  first  series  of  circumstances  linked  to  laser  applications  in  restoration  and 
conservation,  it  seems  the  coupling  of  words  serendipity-zemblanity-bahramdipity  has  been 
activated.  A  long  time  has  passed  since  the  first  works  linked  to  the  Porta  della  carte  of  the 
Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) in Venice (marble relief and ruby laser). Nowadays, this type of 
work can be treated as standardized and it is implemented in great number of countries [1, 2]. In 
the  case  of  Florence  Cathedral,  the  conservation  of  artworks  was  proposed  by  J.  F.  Fonatello, 
panels of the Giotto’s tower of the Florence Cathedral by Andrea Pisano. 
The  unique  roles  of  quantum  generators  –  lasers  –    exist  both  in  restoration  and  diagnostics. 
Besides  that,  the  question  of  source  existence  –  a  source  that  provides  completely  new  artistic 
impression  with  respect  to  its  ideal  characteristic  of  coherency  –  introduced  new  tools  and 
techniques and could be (and was) implemented in many new processes and effects. New artistic 
directions  were  performed,  where  the  source  of  the  coherence  became  a  part  of  a  new  artistic 
object, a hologram slide provokes the impression of the train entering the crowd, etc. [1–5] The 
laser role by using LIBS method in diagnostics in the case of the building in 7 Balkanska street, 
Belgrade, was presented in this paper.
AB  - Čini se da je uloga lasera u heritologiji i umetnosti u stalnom porastu od kraja 20. veka; rani su pokušaji čišćenja umetničkih objekata, starih spomenika ili artefakata od vremena Hedi Lamar (Hedy Lamarr) i prvih neuspešnih nuklearnih testova, kao i razmišljanja o holografskim zapisima. Posle prve serije okolnosti vezanih za primene laserskih tehnika u restauraciji i konzervaciji, izgleda da je sprezanje reči serendipity, zemblanity i bahramdipity aktivirano. Prošlo je mnogo vremena otkad su obavljeni prvi radovi vezani za Porta della Carta Duždeve palate (Palazzo Ducale) u Veneciji – mermerni reljef i rubinski laser. Danas ovaj tip radova može da se tretira kao konvencionalan/standardan i primeni u nizu zemalja [1, 2]. U slučaju Katedrale u Firenci Fonatelo (J. F. Fonatello) je predložio konzervaciju umetničkih objekata, Pizanove (Andrea Pisano) panele na Đotovoj (Giotto) kuli Katedrale.

Jedinstvene uloge kvantnih generatora – lasera – postoje i u restauraciji i u dijagnostici. [1–5] Uloga lasera u dijagnostici i u svrhu konzervacije i neke primene na slučaj zgrade u Balkanskoj 7 u Beogradu je prikazana u ovom radu.

20 th   century;  the  early  attempts  of cleaning  artistic  objects,  old  monuments  /  artifacts  during  the 
times of Hedy Lamarr and the first unsuccessful nuclear tests as well as of thinking of holographic 
records.  After  the  first  series  of  circumstances  linked  to  laser  applications  in  restoration  and 
conservation,  it  seems  the  coupling  of  words  serendipity-zemblanity-bahramdipity  has  been 
activated.  A  long  time  has  passed  since  the  first  works  linked  to  the  Porta  della  carte  of  the 
Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) in Venice (marble relief and ruby laser). Nowadays, this type of 
work can be treated as standardized and it is implemented in great number of countries [1, 2]. In 
the  case  of  Florence  Cathedral,  the  conservation  of  artworks  was  proposed  by  J.  F.  Fonatello, 
panels of the Giotto’s tower of the Florence Cathedral by Andrea Pisano. 
The  unique  roles  of  quantum  generators  –  lasers  –    exist  both  in  restoration  and  diagnostics. 
Besides  that,  the  question  of  source  existence  –  a  source  that  provides  completely  new  artistic 
impression  with  respect  to  its  ideal  characteristic  of  coherency  –  introduced  new  tools  and 
techniques and could be (and was) implemented in many new processes and effects. New artistic 
directions  were  performed,  where  the  source  of  the  coherence  became  a  part  of  a  new  artistic 
object, a hologram slide provokes the impression of the train entering the crowd, etc. [1–5] The 
laser role by using LIBS method in diagnostics in the case of the building in 7 Balkanska street, 
Belgrade, was presented in this paper., Čini se da je uloga lasera u heritologiji i umetnosti u stalnom porastu od kraja 20. veka; rani su pokušaji čišćenja umetničkih objekata, starih spomenika ili artefakata od vremena Hedi Lamar (Hedy Lamarr) i prvih neuspešnih nuklearnih testova, kao i razmišljanja o holografskim zapisima. Corrosion characteristics of laser-cleaned surfaces on iron artefact

AB  - Nd:YAG laser was used for cleaning surfaces of cultural heritage iron artefacts covered with
corrosion products. The corrosion products were removed without damaging the base material.
Three different electrochemical techniques were used for the determination of the corrosion rate of
mechanically prepared iron, laser-cleaned iron and laser-cleaned iron with Paraloid B44 coating.
The morphology of the tested surfaces was analysed by SEM. The linear polarization resistance
technique, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and linear sweep voltammetry have shown
that the corrosion rate of the laser-cleaned iron is approximately 50 % higher than the corrosion
rate of the mechanically prepared iron. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy has shown that
the pore resistance of the Paraloid coating on the laser-cleaned iron sample decreases at the
beginning of the test and remains approximately constant after this period. At the beginning of the
test, the charge transfer resistance value is constant and then decreases rapidly i.e. the corrosion
rate of the iron in the Paraloid coating pores increases with time. During the linear sweep
voltammetry test of the iron sample with Paraloid coating, it was noticed that the anodic
polarisation curve shows an unusual shape at the potentials more positive than - 0.5 V
AB  - U ovom radu, Nd:YAG laser je korišćen za čišćenje površina artefakata od gvožđa koji su bili prekriveni korozionim produktima. Korozioni produkti su uklonjeni bez oštećivanja osnovnog materijala. Za određivanje brzine korozije mehanički čišćene površine, laserski čišćene površine i laserski čišćene površine na koju je nakon čišćenja nanesen zaštitni sloj Paraloid B44, korišćene su tri različite elektrohemijske metode. Morfologija čišćenih površina je ispitivana SEM mikroskopijom. Metoda linearne polarizacione otpornosti, elektrohemijska impedansna spektroskopija i voltametrija sa linearnom promenom potencijala pokazale su da je brzina korozije laserski čišćene površine uzorka od gvožđa za oko 50% veća od brzine korozije mehanički čišćene površine. Elektrohemijska impedansna spektroskopija je pokazala da otpornost pora Paraloid prevlake na laserski čišćenoj površini uzorka opada na početku ispitivanja nakon čega dostiže konstantnu vrednost. Na početku ispitivanja, vrednost otpornosti razmeni elektrona je konstantna nakon čega naglo opada, tj. brzina korozije gvožđa u porama Paraloid prevlake raste sa vremenom. Tokom ispitivanja tehnikom voltametrije sa linearnom promenom potencijala na uzorku od gvožđa sa Paraloid prevlakom, zapaženo je da anodna kriva polarizacije ima neuobičajen oblik pri potencijalima pozitivnijim od - 0.5 V

Resistance to Pit Formation and Pit Growth for Different Tempers of AA2024 Aluminium Alloy in Presence of Benzotriazole

AB  - The paper analyses the corrosion behaviour of both naturally and artificially aged AA2024 aluminium alloy in NaCl solution in the presence of the corrosion inhibitor benzotriazole (BTA). The differences between these two aging tempers in terms of resistance to general corrosion are explained as well as the differences in terms of pit formation and pit growth. Based on the values of the polarisation resistance and the corrosion current density, the general corrosion resistance of the alloy is determined in the absence and in the presence of BTA. The resistance to pit formation and pit growth is determined on the basis of the polarisation measurements results. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed the expected differences in the appearance and size of the pits formed in naturally aged and artificially aged alloy. In the presence of the corrosion inhibitor BTA, for both aging tempers of the alloy, the corrosion resistance is significantly higher compared to the resistance in the solution without the inhibitor. The value of the polarisation resistance for both aging tempers increases over time. However, at the same time, the value of the constant phase element increases as well. An explanation for this phenomenon is provided. The calculated average value of the thickness of the adsorbed inhibitor layer on the surface of the aluminium alloy is in accordance with the inhibitor protective ability for both aging tempers.

AA2024 alloy in NaCl solution and in the presence of an environment ‐ friendly
corrosion inhibitor, CeCl 3 . On the basis of the values of polarisation resistance
and  corrosion  current  density,  the  corrosion  resistance  of  the  protective
inhibitor film is established as well as the general corrosion resistance of this
aluminium  alloy.  Resistance  to  pit  formation  is  determined  based  on  the
difference in pitting and corrosion potentials while resistance to pit growth is
determined based on the amount of charge consumed during pit growth. A
scanning electron microscope is used to examine the morphology of the pits
formed during the pitting corrosion testing, as well as to determine the cerium
content on intermetallic particles and the matrix AA2024 alloy. The corrosion
behaviour of AA2024 alloy is investigated after different test periods in NaCl
solution  and  in  the  same  solution  with  the  CeCl 3 inhibitor.  The  corrosion
resistance of both tempers of AA2024 alloy is more than one order of magnitude
higher in the presence of CeCl 3 . An explanation of the observed differences in
the corrosion behaviour of the naturally and artificially aged AA2024 alloy is
proposed. Different corrosion behaviour of the alloy after different test periods
is also explained.

AB  - Metal matrix composites are very inhomogeneous materials, and their properties depend on various parameters (production process, constituents, their interfaces, etc.). The influence of SiC microparticles (40 mu m) reinforcement and graphite macroparticles (200-800 mu m) addition on the mechanical properties of Al-Si A356 alloy, produced by compocasting, has been assessed using macro- and nanoscale measurements of hardness and modulus of elasticity. The Al makes over 90 wt% of the A356 alloy, so the nanoscale measurements were performed on different alpha phase regions on each material (core of alpha phase, eutectic alpha phase, and alpha phase near the phase boundaries alpha phase/secondary phases). The results showed that there is no direct correlation between mechanical properties on macro- and nanoscale. The nanoscale results also showed that the secondary phases (SiC and graphite particles) can have significant effect on the mechanical properties on the atomic level, i.e. in the alpha phase regions very close to the secondary phases.

Green corrosion inhibitors

AB  - The corrosion inhibiting possibility examination of extracts obtained from fruits of rose hip and
horse chestnut was investigated. Rose hip extracted at different temperatures exhibited different
corrosion inhibiting effect. Rose hip obtained at 40oC did not show any inhibiting effect in neutral
pH medium, while in acidic media it expressed moderate protective impact (up to 55%) for steel
and mild corrosion inhibiting impact for zinc (39%), while for aluminium and copper it did not
have any inhibiting effect. Rose hip obtained at 25oC exhibited significant inhibiting effect for steel
(up to 62 %) and even better for zinc (up to 72%) in neutral media. For aluminium and copper
neither of Rose hip extracts showed any inhibiting effect. The Horse chestnut extract exhibits
moderate to significant inhibiting effect for steel (up to 55%) and zinc (up to 60%) in neutral
media. In addition to this, because of the complex chemical composition of these fruit extracts,
some further electrochemical investigation is suggested, aimed to determine a single component
inhibitive effect. Firstly, as one of prevailing components, tannins are examined. Linear
polarization resistance (LPR) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used as a
testing techniques.

AB  - In recent years, lasers have been used more and more in different areas of human life, science, industry, medicine, military, agriculture, and show business, protection of environmental and culturalheritage objects, in the arts and so on. Laser technology has some advantages in many areas over classical methods. This paper presents the results of laser application for cleaning corrosion of metal objects, cooper and brass. The first sample was oxidised cooper plate and the second ashtray made of brass. Nd: YAG laser was used as a source of radiation to clean surface corrosion deposits. Removal of layers from the surface occurs through the process of laser ablation. Three wavelengths were used with different fluences. The cleaning results, i.e. the morphological and chemical changes were investigated by optical microscopy, XRF analysis and colorimetry. The obtained results show that lasers are efficient corrosion cleaning and environmentally friendly method.

AB  - Nd:YAG laser was used for cleaning surfaces of cultural heritage iron artefacts covered with corrosion products. The corrosion products were removed without damaging the base material. Three different electrochemical techniques were used for the determination of the corrosion rate of mechanically prepared iron, laser-cleaned iron and laser-cleaned iron with Paraloid B44 coating. The morphology of the tested surfaces was analysed by SEM. The linear polarization resistance technique, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and linear sweep voltammetry have shown that the corrosion rate of the laser-cleaned iron is approximately 50 % higher than the corrosion rate of the mechanically prepared iron. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy has shown that the pore resistance of the Paraloid coating on the laser-cleaned iron sample decreases at the beginning of the test and remains approximately constant after this period. At the beginning of the test, the charge transfer resistance value is constant and then decreases rapidly i.e. the corrosion rate of the iron in the Paraloid coating pores increases with time. During the linear sweep voltammetry test of the iron sample with Paraloid coating, it was noticed that the anodic polarisation curve shows an unusual shape at the potentials more positive than - 0.5 V.

Србији не обухвата значајно наслеђе које датира од почетка српске музичке писменос-
ти, до данас. У раду се проблематизује питање херитолошког односа према знању које се
преноси усменим путем од ХIV века до данас, у оквиру литургијског осмогласног појања.
У фокусу истраживања је појање са базинеумских рукописa који се налазе ван Србије
у више универзитетских колекција и значајних манастирских библиотека. Управљање
знањем разматра се у специфичности канона у оквиру којег постоји поље импровизације
које произлази из праксе духовног обреда. Посебно се проблематизује могућност мулти-
дисциплинарног рада у примени дигитализације у заштити наслеђа.
AB  - Protection of the intangible cultural heritage, from the aspect of science of conservation
cultural heritage, still does not encompass significant heritage that has been dated
since the beginning of Serbian music literacy until today. The paper follows the heritologycal
point of view of the problemabout knowledge transmitted through the oral mode from the
14th century to today, within the liturgical church chant, with simultaniously interpretation
by eight – voices. The focus of the research is the poem based on the neume – old notation
manuscripts that are located outside Serbia in several university collections and significant
monastery libraries. Knowledge management is considered in the specificity of the canons in
which there is a field of improvisation that arises from the practice of spiritual ritual. Particularly,
in focus is the possibility of multidisciplinary work in the application of digitization
in the protection of heritage.

AB  - Heritologija kao nauka o zaštiti kulturnog nasleđa, multidisciplinarna je oblast, u kojoj pitanje energije ima izuzetan značaj u domenu zaštite nepokretnog kulturnog nasleđa, odnosno arheoloških lokaliteta. U ovom radu istražuju se metodološki problemi u formulisanju paradigme zasnovane na principima intentio operis i intentio auctoris, koja u projektovanju modela prezentacije kulturnog nasleđa uvažava pitanja jedinstvenosti, originalnosti i ekskluziviteta autorskih prostornih rešenja, zbog čega je veoma osetljivo i pitanje modela primene obnovljivih izvora energije.
AB  - Heritology, as a science for the protection of cultural heritage, is a multidisciplinary field in which the issue of energy is of great importance in terms of protection of immovable cultural herit-age, that is, archaeological sites. Models of contemporary heritage presentation are based on the application of new technologies, as well as on environmental safety, which includes the use of re-newable energy sources. This paper explores methodological problems of formulating a paradigm based on the principles of intentio operis and intentio auctoris, which in designing a model for the presentation of cultural heritage takes into account the uniqueness, originality and exclusivity of author's spatial solutions, which makes the model of renewable energy application very sensitive.

AB  - New technologies are making significant progress in protecting cultural heritage and their application in this area has become an imperative of multidisciplinary connection in many fields such as: art, culture, history, archeology, sustainable development, environmental technology, problems of management issues in innovation, technology of materials, as well as numerous secondary disciplines. Managing projects that cover heritage protection is all the more complex when contemporary problems are more diverse, and this also requires the involvement of more experts and researchers with very different experience. This paper presents methodologies in composition of human resources in the goals to multidisciplinary research of conservation and restoration of art and archaeology artifacts. Observing potentials of different researchers we indirectly conclude about qualitative parameters of education necessary to work in application new technology in the field of cultural heritage protection. Our investigation results lead to some conclusions:  it has been concluded that theoretical basis and understanding of heuristic views to problems of degradation of cultural heritage are both important. Equally important is continuous education and its implication in using new technologies in cultural heritage protection.

AB  - In 2017, the Parliament of Europe adopted the proposal to draft
the legislation on the protection of the rights of electronic persons,
or of the person of a humanoid robot. This legal introduction into
the robot technological revolution, the first one, which will not be
carried out by man, presses for the religious and technological
concepts of person to be examined in parallel. Starting from the
humanistic attitudes of Dostoyevsky, Žarko Vidović, as well as of
father Metrophanes, on one hand, and from the abuse of techno-
logical research based on the methods of biomimicry and artificial
intelligence, on the other, the paper observes Dictionary of Tech-
nology. It brought the notion of selfhood into focus, anticipated and
warned against the events that would follow through three techno-
logical revolutions, which may all, in their own way, be understood

AB  - Inovativna tehnologija laserskog čišćenja različitih površina u industriji, uključuje integrisani pristup kontrole procesa interakcije laser-materijal i ispitivanja rezultata laserskog delovanja. Lasersko čišćenje ima značajne prednosti u odnosu na klasične metode čišćenja: ima veliku selektivnost, preciznost, efikasnost i pouzdanost u primeni kod različitih vrsta materijala. Termalna priroda procesa laserskog čišćenja unosi određeni rizik po predmete čišćenja, te su istraživanja optimizacije procesa u fokusu interesovanja velikog broja naučnika. U radu su prikazani rezultati laserskog čišćenja boje na bakarnoj površini i zaštitnog sloja na štampanoj pločici. Kontrola procesa laserskog čišćenja u realnom vremenu je vršena pomoću infracrvene kamere. Mikromorfološke promene čišćene površine su ispitivani optičkom mikroskopijom.
AB  - Innovative laser cleaning technology for various surfaces in the industry, includes an integrated
approach to controlling the process of laser-material interaction and testing laser treatment results.
Laser cleaning has significant advantages over conventional cleaning methods: it has high selectivity,
precision, efficiency and reliability in an application for different types of materials. The thermal nature
of the laser cleaning process brings a certain risk for cleaning objects, and the process optimization
research is in the focus of interest of a large number of scientists. This paper presents the results of laser
paint, on the copper surface, and the protective layer, on the printed circuit board, cleaning. The control
of the real-time laser cleaning process was carried out using an infrared camera. The
micromorphological characteristics of the cleaned surface were examined by optical microscopy

AB  - Usled razvoja industrije i rastom populacije tokom poslednjih godina javljaju se
problemi u vezi sa otpadnim vodama iz proizvodnje koje je neophodno rešavati na ekološki i
ekonomičan način. Sve otpadne vode iz postrojenja bez obzira kako su nastale sadrže štetne
materije koje mogu da imaju i određen stepen toksičnih primesa, moraju se prečistiti ako njihov
kvalitet ne odgovara zakonskim okvirima. Svrha tretmana otpadnih voda je uklanjanje štetnih
materija čime se postiže smanjnje stepena njene zagađenosti, a istovremeno se ostvaruje i određen

AB  - Due to the development of industry and population growth during the in recent years, there are problems with wastewater from production that needs to be addressed in an environmentally and economical way. All wastewaters from industry, no matter how they are created, contain harmful substances that may have some degree of toxicity, must be treated if their quality does not meet the legal requirements. The purpose of wastewater treatment is to remove
harmful substances, thereby reducing its pollution level, and at the same time, it also has a certain economic and environmental effect. Therefore, wastewater treatment was carried out in this work by precipitation using calcium oxide to remove colloidal substances and heavy metals. Most pollutants are of organic origin and their removal will be carried in this work out using advanced
oxidation processes using ozone, and ozone in combination with ultrasound to achieve water quality that complies with the law. The purification process will be optimized with respect to, method, time and amount of oxidizing agent applied. The degree of pollution of water by organic compounds will be determined on the basis of measurements of HPK, BOD and the concentration of heavy metals (lead, ferrum, chromium, copper, zinc, aluminum).

AB  - The study of the synthesis of anticorrosive inhibitors, based on chemically modified tannins, and
their use in alkyd based coatings to improve anticorrosive properties is presented in this work.
Two methods of tannin modification were applied: direct method using ammonium hydroxide,
ammonium hydroxide/ammonium chloride buffer or diethylenetriamine (DETA); and a two-step
method including tannin modification with epichlorohydrin (ECH) in first step to produce epoxy
modified tannin, ET, and further modification with heteroaromatic amines or linseed oil fatty acids
(LFA) in second step. The obtained anticorrosive additives were characterized using ATR-FTIR,
1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies and elemental analysis. Epoxy, amino, hydroxyl, acid and iodine
values of the synthesized inhibitors were determined according to standard methods. The
prepared alkyd coating with tannin inhibitors was tested according to standard SRPS EN ISO
4628 method. Anticorrosive coating containing modified tannin based additive showed increased
anticorrosive properties, good adhesion and coverage comparing to the coating with zinc
phosphate additive. The alkyd coating films based on ET-LFA and ET modified with 2-amino-5-
mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole showed best anticorrosive results.
AB  - U ovom radu prikazana je sinteza antikorozionih aditiva na bazi hemijski modifikovanog tanina i njihova primena u alkidnim premazima u cilju poboljšanja antikorozionih svojstava. Prikazane su dve metode modifikacije tanina: direktna modifikacija tanina primenom amonijum-hidroksida, amonijum-hidroksid/amonijum-hlorid pufera ili dietilentriamina (DETA); i dvostepena modifikacija tanina koja u prvom stupnju uključuje modifikaciju epihlorhidrinom sa ciljem da se dobije tannin sa epoksi terminiranim funkcionalnim grupama, ET, i modifikaciju ET tanina sa heteroaromatičnim aminima ili masnim kiselinama izolovanim iz lanenog ulja (LFA) u drugom stupnju. AB  - Levulinic acid (4-oxopentanoic acid) (LA) is a two-functional γ-keto acid widely used in a production of pharmaceuticals, ethyl levulinate, the substance which is
widely used in the cream and perfume industry, polymers, plasticizers, biofuel, resins, and various other additives.
LA was synthesized by the dehydration of fructose in a strongly acidic aqueous medium, using diluted hydrochloric acid, and subjected to microwave irradiation at
different operational conditions. LA was further used in two subsequent steps of peroxidation and dehydration to obtain 3-hydroxypropanoic acid and maleic
anhydride (MA) and acrylic acid (AA), respectively, which could be used for acrylic ester synthesis which could be used as a monomer in a polyacrylate
production (Figure 1).

AB  - The investigations of the turbulence in the flow are one of the most expensive, thus the improvement of existing ones and the research related to the new methods are in continual development. The multidisciplinary approach led to the application of the infrared thermography in the turbulent boundary layer observations with the endpoint goal of energy and cost savings in its early stages. This work presents the use of the industrial type infrared thermography for identification of the turbulent zones in the free convective flow, so far the less investigated problem related to convection heat transfer. It was shown that the transient spot temperature difference, measured on the complex geometry of the real-scale coal ventilation mill, of the Thermal plant “Kostolac B”, by an infrared camera, is a good parameter for identification of the most influenced positions by turbulence. The defined fields with maximal transient temperature difference are in accordance with theory and values calculated by numerical simulations for clean geometry, confirming the assumptions. The described method is also convenient for use in cases when the other methods are not applicable because of the complex geometry, unapproachable, or for the other similar reasons. The results from this work would support the more precise measurements with the research type infrared camera, the other methods for measurements.

AB  - The influence of welding parameters on the resistance to pitting corrosion in welded joints of X5CrNi18-10 stainless steel was studied. Welding was performed by a TIG procedure in a shielding gas containing different amounts of nitrogen. The welding speed, the deposition rate of the filler wire, and the shielding gas flow rate were constant, which allowed the nitrogen content in the weld metal to be directly dependent on the nitrogen content in the shielding gas. It was shown that welding current and arc energy had a significantly lower influence on the resistance to pit formation and pit growth, than the nitrogen content in the shielding gas. Pitting corrosion testing was conducted using the potentiodynamic polarization method. The resistance to pit formation increases with the increase in nitrogen content in the weld metal, while the resistance to pit growth decreases. The microstructure of the weld metal becomes more homogeneous in the presence of nitrogen and the distribution of chromium more uniform, which leads to the increased resistance to pit formation. Also, due to the formation of ammonia ions, the pH value of the solution within the pit is higher than in the bulk solution, which also increases the resistance to pit formation.
