abstract = "Every year about 4.000 babies are born prematurely in Serbia. Adequate nutrition of premature infants is very important for their health and appropriate development. Although human milk (HM) contains significant biomolecules with major impact on preterm babies, the diet based exclusively on HM over a longer period of time, with content of protein, sodium, calcium and phosphorus below the level required for fetal bone mineralization, can be associated with the development of nutritional deficiency in this sensitive group of infants. The aim of this study was to determine the content of micronutrients (Na, K, Ca, P, Cl, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu) in human milk of the mothers’ of preterm infants in Serbia and its influence on the osmolality and potential renal solute load (PRLS).",
