AB  - The article presents an experimental study of a phase diagram of a ternary Bi-Ni-Pb system using differential thermal analysis (DTA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis. The investigated ternary alloys were selected from three vertical sections (x(Bi)=0.75, x(Ni)=0.1 and x(Pb)=0.9) and two isothermal sections at 100 and at 300°C. The obtained experimental results were compared with the thermodynamically extrapolated phase diagram of the Bi-Ni-Pb ternary system based on the thermodynamic parameters for the constitutive binary systems available in literature. Reasonably close agreement between the experimental data and the calculated phase diagram was obtained.
AB  - U ovom radu je predstavljeno eksperimentalno ispitivanje faznog dijagrama Bi-Ni-Pb ternarnog sistema uz pomoć diferencijalne termijske analize (DTA), skenirajućeg elektronskog mikroskopa (SEM) sa energijsko disperzivno spektrometrijom (EDS) i rentgenskom difrakcijom praha (XRD). Ispitivane ternarne legure su izabrane iz tri vertikalna preseka (x(Bi)=0.75, x(Ni)=0.1 i x(Pb)=0.9), i dva izotermalna preseka na 100 i 300°C. Rezultati eksperimenta su upoređeni sa termodinamički ekstrapolisanim faznim dijagramom Bi-Ni-Pb ternarnog sistema na osnovu termodinamičkih parametara sastavnih binarnih sistema koji su dostupni u literaturi. Utvrđeno je dobro slaganje između eksperimentalnih rezultata i proračunatog faznog dijagrama.

AB  - Phase diagram of the Bi-Cu-Ga ternary system has been investigated experimentally with 27 alloys and analytically by
using a Calphad method. Thirteen annealed alloys at 200 °C were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy
(SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) methods. Temperatures of phase
transformation were determined with 14 alloys which are lying along three vertical sections Bi-Cu0.5Ga0.5, Cu-Bi0.5Ga0.5
and Ga-Bi0.5Cu0.5 by using differential thermal analysis (DTA). Based on the experimental result and by using Calphad
method, ternary phase diagrams were constructed with a new description of liquidus phase. Calculated phase diagram and
experimentally obtained results are in good agreement. Liquidus projection and invariant reaction were calculated by using
new thermodynamic parameters for liquidus phase.

AB  - The phase diagram of the Cu-In-Sb ternary system is of importance in predicting the interface reaction between In-based solder materials and the Cu substrate. The liquidus surface, invariant equilibria and four vertical sections of the Cu-In-Sb ternary system were calculated by the CALPHAD method using binary thermodynamic parameters included in the COST531 database. Alloys, representing two isopleths from indium corner with molar ratio of copper and antimony equal to 1/3 and 1/1 and two isopleths from antimony corner with molar ratio of indium and copper equal to 3/1 and 1/1 were measured with the DTA (Differential Thermal Analysis) and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry). The experimentally determined phase transition temperatures were compared with calculation results and good mutual agreement was noticed.

AB  - Powder mixtures of zinc oxide and tin oxide in the molar ratio, ZnO:SnO2 = 2:1, were mechanically activated in a planetary ball mill in the time intervals of 0-160 min. The adsorption-desorption isotherms, specific surface area, pore volume and pore size distribution spectra of mechanically activated powder mixtures were established by N2 adsorption at 77 K. Microstructure analysis was performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and digital pattern recognition (DPR) microstructure quantity analysis. The phase composition of the mixed powders was determined by X-ray analysis. Mechanochemical activation of the ZnO-SnO2 system resulted in fine grinding of the starting particles and generation of contacts between them, mass transfer at contacts zones and formation of Zn2SnO4 spinel, which was observed after 40 min of activation.
