AB - The globalization of markets, the fourth industrial revolution - Industry 4.0, and the post-pandemic business
paradigm affected not only domestic enterprises but enterprises around the world as well. Forecasts regarding
GDP growth, unemployment rates and competitiveness are provided and discussed by various organizations
(World Bank, European Central Bank, World Economic Forum etc.). Additionally, a large number of quarterly
reports on various metrics for almost every country are published. In this paper the existing data and reports
published by some of the noted organizations are analyzed. The goal is to provide a concise and informative
overview on potential domestic macro-economic trends, on national competitiveness and on the competitiveness
of domestic enterprises. The overview is conceptualized through discussing existing and potential economic
forecasts based on reports. The paper provides a solid basis for future research in the domain of domestic
economy and national competitiveness. The paper also provides suggestions and guidelines for improving the
competitiveness of domestic enterprises.

AB - The analysis of a new product realization from the view of customer
requirements and a relevant technical response of a company is presented
in this paper. Two types of tools are used: QFD and AHP. HOQ within
QFD is used for modeling technical requirements on the basis of defined
customer demands. AHP serves as an addition in the process of technical
requirements definition, it is used as a strategy for fast response to
customer requirements. A comparison between leading foreign and
domestic producers of transmitters has also been presented. HOQ
realization on the example of intelligent pressure transmitter has shown
that design parameters were defined. The implementation of AHP
methodology has pointed at the significance of modular architecture for
transmitter realization. Original contribution of this work is reflected in
QFD analysis solutions – customer requirements were satisfied by giving
technical characteristics with the aim of a new product realization.

AB - U ovom radu prikazan je značaj aditivne proizvodnje u okviru Lean koncepta. Koncept definiše sedam
vrsta proizvodnog otpada, dok Lean proizvodnja podrazumeva uklanjanje tog otpada. Aditivna proizvodnja
primenu u maloserijskoj i pojedinačnoj proizvodnji. Najbolje se pokazala u izradi prototipa. U radu analiziran
je postupak izrade modela i strategija implementacije aditivne preozvodnje primenom Lean filozofije u
preduzeću.
AB - In this paper, the importance of additive manufacturing within the Lean concept presented. The concept defines
seven types of production waste, while Lean production involves removing that waste. Additive manufacturing satisfies
all the criteria to minimize waste. In general, there is a difference between these productions. Lean production is
characteristic of mass production, while additive manufacturing has found application in small-scale and individual
production. Additive production best proved in prototyping. The paper analyzes the developing process of models and
strategies for the additive manufacturing implementation using Lean philosophy in the enterprise.

AB - Gap analysis represents a tool for raising the level of performances of products, processes and enterprise organization which is rarely used in risk management. This paper proposes the joint application of Gap and Pareto analysis, in aim to mitigate possible risks in production processes. It is based on the facts that key points in the production process indicate some serious oversights (gaps), characterized as errors, which can grow into risky elements that disturb the manufacturing process and final transmitter assembly. In this paper, finalizing and assembling pressure transmitter elements (modules), created by a domestic manufacturer, served as an example for the Gap analysis. Each electronic transmitter is consisted of three modules: measurement cell, mechanical coupling fixture and enclosure containing the electronics and the terminal block box. Through the implementation and assembly of these modules errors (or elements of potential risks) have been identified. Later on, using the Pareto chart, it has been seen that 80% of errors made during the transmitter manufacturing process have occurred while implementing the first and the third transmitter module. Also, by analyzing the collected gaps, it has been concluded that the critical ones happen while using the existing technology and engaging workforce. In order to eliminate the above-mentioned errors, this paper decidedly presents the Gap analysis steps which should be followed, so the transmitter manufacturing process would be improved in terms of quality. Similar methodology could be applied to other products and processes.

AB - The lean manufacturing approach has the potential to lower production costs and increase productivity through the reduction of various forms of waste. It is evident that lean manufacturing as a business model offers stable financial performance and overall good business performance. The fourth industrial revolution or Industry 4.0 (I4.0) includes the use of evolving technologies such as cloud computing, blockchain technologies, Internet of Things, big data analysis, additive manufacturing, simulation and others. In this paper a thorough analysis of literature is conducted. Based on the findings, a theoretical model for I4.0 technologies application with lean manufacturing is developed. The model depicts an enterprise and the possible solutions for improving business performance with I4.0 technologies and lean manufacturing. The main goal of this paper is to challenge the idea of I4.0 application with the lean approach in order to achieve higher competitiveness. I4.0 technologies often require expensive infrastructure and extensive financial investments, but including lean into the “equation” it is possible to “reap” the benefits of these technologies at a lower cost. The limitations of the model are addressed and future research is proposed.

AB - Youth entrepreneurship is important for reducing youth unemployment rates and it overall contributes to economic growth. The main idea of this research is to determine the barriers and challenges that young entrepreneurs face in Serbia. The paper analyzes literature in this domain, and compares the status of youth entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship overall between Serbia, the EU and the US. Furthermore, a theoretical model is developed that includes the application of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies and lean startup approach. The results indicate that taxation regulation and the lack of financial support for new startups are the main barriers that the young face in Serbia. In addition, the lack of adequate entrepreneurial education creates difficulties, and demotivates potential entrepreneurs. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce or modify existing regulatory laws and introduce effective financial support for new enterprises.
Dodatno, nedostatak adekvatnog preduzetničkog obrazoavanja stvara poteškoće i demotiviše potencijalne mlade preduzetnike. Samim tim, potrebno je uvesti ili modifikovati postojeće regulisanje poreza i uvesti efektivnu finansijsku prodšku novim preduzećima i preduzetnicima.

AB - In this paper we analyze the production technology of industrial transmitters from the aspect of customers'
needs. Also, a comparison is made between such products of one domestic and some of the world-leading transmitter
manufacturers. In the observed case the QFD method was used through the analysis of manufacturing errors. A
realization of the house of quality is presented using the example of a new product - an intelligent pressure transmitter.
The main design parameters are defined, and the modular architecture is accepted as optimal for the new product
range. The new products are made suitable for reuse and recycling.

AB - In contemporary business, issues such as environmental protection, taking care of employees and their job satisfaction, ethical principles, supporting endangered groups, caring about young people, caring about the society and the like, are serious challenges that a company has to deal with, no matter which industry it belongs to. One of the most important principles of contemporary business is an organisation based on responsibility. An organisation has to take full responsibility for its actions in the environment in which it operates. Contemporary business puts responsibility on the level of each individual as well. Global market leaders have accepted the application of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) with a view to satisfying customers' and other stakeholders' demands. What is seen as a prerequisite for a successful realisation of CSR concepts in a company is a genuine wish for its application by the management, management's readiness to understand the basic postulates of this concept, good communication (both internal and external), promotion of examples of good practice in the company and outside of it, motivating employees for a more active role in realising good business practices. In this paper, the authors have presented the results of a survey about young people's attitudes towards corporate social responsibility.

AB - The paper presents a theoretic model for improving the manufacturing process that was developed and tested in small-scale production enterprises. The model also represents a new organizational model which enables a complete implementation of pull strategy, insufficiently used in Serbia up to now, with a stress on sustainable manufacturing process, remanufacturing process and environmental protection. The model also includes the guidelines to SMEs - how to use energy, materials and water rationally during the process of manufacturing new products. Development of new products in SMEs on the territory of the Republic of Serbia is burdened by numerous problems among which the most influential ones are: financial flow, poor market estimation, lack of knowledge, lack of ISO 9001 certificate and weak organizational structure. On the bases of the data research we have identified the following problems in small enterprises: individual knowledge, distribution and realization of work tasks, increase of operational expenses caused by bad distribution of work tasks, exceptionally poor communication with consumers.

AB - In this paper is shown importance of modular architecture in the sustainable development of enterprises. The application of modular design enables the development of the production program based on the results of its own development. At the illustrated example, the production of transmitters it was concluded that modular architecture enables the production of independent entities, provides the realization of products in inaccessible places, enables to precisely defined technical documentation of modules, enabling easy maintenance, repair and improvement. This paper describes an algorithm for material reuse which indicates the importance of the customer in a closed material flow. In this connection, PLC includes protection of the environment as a strategic decision in the sustainable development of enterprises.

AB - Lean management (LM) is a set of procedures and principles used in industrial processes for finding and eliminating useless activities. This paper presents the analysis of business practices in small-scale manufacturing enterprises in Serbia in comparison with defined LM principles. Application of LM standards to reduce waste and optimize production in SMEs in Serbia has not been investigated before, although this practice has been successfully used in neighboring countries. The importance of this approach is related to the benefits of improving business practices in SMEs in Serbia. This study shows that enterprises lack a system ensuring that the customer gets a quality product on time, the optimization of production and resources are limited, and a significant difference exists between job requirements and skills. The recommendations to improve operations include introduction of a monitoring and control system to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction, and introduction of various LM tools.

AB - New product development in small manufacturing enterprises on the territory of Serbia was investigated on a representative sample of micro and small enterprises covering a broad range of businesses. It was found that market pull was the prevalent strategy for new product development, which was characterized by close collaboration with customers from the idea to the final product including the R&D activities. Besides customers, the main sources of ideas were competitors and trade fairs or exhibitions. The marketing activities associated with new product introduction were quite limited. These findings were compared with new product development practices in neighboring countries. Based on our findings we propose two measures to improve new product development in small manufacturing enterprises in Serbia: establish a closer cooperation with external knowledge centers (universities, research institutes, innovation centers) and set up innovation networks with complementary partners by actively using the open innovation concept.

AB - The paper deals with the analysis of elements which represent a starting point in implementation of a business process reengineering. We have used Lean tools through the analysis of 5S model in our research. On the example of finalization of the finished transmitter in IHMT-CMT production, 5S tools were implemented with a focus on Quality elements although the theory shows that BPR and TQM are two opposite activities in an enterprise. We wanted to distinguish the significance of employees’ self-discipline which helps the process of product finalization to develop in time and without waste and losses. In addition, the employees keep their work place clean, tidy and functional.

AB - ”Market pull” strategy is dominating in small scale manufacturing enterprises in the Republic of Serbia. The research whose results are presented in this work has determined the significance of this strategy from the aspect of developing new products. The strategy is reflected in close collaboration of enterprises and their customers, from the idea to the final product, including R & D activities. Beside customers, the main sources of ideas are: competitors and fairs. It has been also determined that marketing activities related to introduction of new products are limited and in comparison to the results from surrounding countries Serbia doesn’t lag behind. However, in order to improve the activities related to the development of new products in Serbian small-scale manufacturing enterprises we have suggested two strategies in this work: ”open innovation” in making closer collaboration with external knowledge sources and the creation of ”innovative networks” with partners in this concept usage. Limitations of this research are: weak feedback from respondents (the questionnaire was sent by e-mail), geographical limitations of the sample and the lack of homogenious sample group in the analysis of certain parameters.

AB - This paper presents an algorithm that makes it possible to improve manufacturing process in an enterprise with small scale production. Today, Lean concept is more and more used in the process of improving production. Also, on the case of transmitters' production, implementation of Lean concept is analyzed based on the known principles. Credibility of the algorithm is reflected in giving recommendations on how to eliminate the short comings in the production process through transmitters: regular movement of employees, regular sequence of operations, products design, and cooperation with customers, reducing inventory and control introduction in all stages of the process. The paper gives an example of how to save material and other resources in the company.

AB - The research results relating to the new product development are represented in this paper. The importance of market pull strategy is described too. Market pull strategy is reflected in the enterprise cooperation with customers from idea concept to final product, which includes R&D activities. Customers appear as external sources of ideas, but instead of them the main sources of ideas are competitors and fairs. Also, marketing activities in SMEs are very limited. In comparison to the neighboring countries Serbia does not have inferior position. For the new product development in Serbian enterprises with small-scale production, the paper proposes two strategies: 'open Innovation' and 'innovative network'. Open innovations are important because of the close cooperation between companies and external knowledge sources, while innovative networks strategy has its advantages in creating business cooperation with subcontractors in the use of ideas and knowledge sources. Limitations of this study are: very poor response rate, geographical limitation and lack of a specific homogeneous group of samples in the analysis of certain parameters.

AB - This paper presents the algorithm for introducing the strategies ensuring the sustainable development of enterprises, but also provides improvement of small-scale manufacturing process. Three strategies are given in the algorithm: Remanufacturing, modification and 4R. Credibility of the algorithm is reflected in: defining the basic input and output elements, defining the important environmental factors, importance of resources and in defining a sustainable production process. The combination of the aforementioned strategies enables local enterprises to perceive easily the importance of achievements in developed countries. Reuse of products is implemented through: verification, disassembling, replacement of parts, installation of modified parts and components, cleaning, re-assembling and testing. The algorithm gives an example of how to save materials and energy appearing as huge losses in manufacturing process.

abstract = "Multicomponent nickel alloy, alloyed with: Mn, Cr, Al, Fe, B, Zr and others, was subjected after mechanical under the vacuum heat treatments: solution heat treatment at 1080oC for 1 hour, primary precipitation at 840 oC for 4 hours, secondary precipitation heat treatment at 760 oC for 3 hours and stress relief annealing at 700 oC for 1 hour. After heat treatment, laser surface treatment was applied and was related to the material deformation and damage formation on the material surface. Preliminary investigations were carried out by laser drilling and resulting traces on material were recorded by scanning electron microscope to find out the influence of different energies and pulse length on structural changes in the material.",
