Morphology and structure of bright electrodeposited metal coatings

AB  - The properties which determine whether the metal surface is mirror bright are precisely determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic forces microscopy (AFM), scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and reflectance spectrophotometry investigations. Mirror brightness of metal surfaces can be associated with the high degree of mirror reflection which approaches very nearly the ideal reflectance of the same metal with the lowest degree of diffuse reflection. Mirror brightness of the copper coatings and the copper surfaces polished both mechanically and electrochemically was determined by fiat and mutually parallel parts of the surface, which are smooth on the atomic level and which point out towards layer structure of these surfaces. Mirror bright metal surfaces can be obtained only by electrochemical polishing or electrochemical deposition in the presence of brightening addition agents.

The effect of water quality on reliability of boiler plants performance

AB  - This paper presents sources and types of corrosion processes of boiler tube system of the Thermal Power Plant 'Ugljevik'. The main goal in the electric power production is to achieve lower prices, which can only be done by providing low maintenance costs. While it is not possible to completely stop corrosion, it could be slowed down and its effects could be reduced. In order to reduce corrosion to a minimum on thermal power plants' vital equipment, particularly boilers, it is necessary to determine in each particular case the acting mechanism of corrosion and agents that cause it. Damages and failures on thermal power plants are largely caused by the development of various types of corrosion processes. Special attention is given to the preparation of water, considering its importance to the occurrence of corrosion. The following types of corrosion were detected on the screen tube boiler by visual examination on the side of water and steam: erosive, pitting and impact corrosion. The inner surface of screen pipes, from which the scale layer was removed, indicates that the erosive corrosion with the thinning of pipe walls occurs. Perforation of the welded screen pipes shows that stress corrosion occurred on the screen pipe with formation of cracks and that pipe exploded. Pits on the inner surface of the screen pipes, visible after the removal of scale and corrosion products, are proof that pitting corrosion occurred. The causes of corrosion were discovered and proposed measures for their elimination were given.
AB  - U ovom radu su prikazani osnovi i vrste korozionih procesa cevnog sistema kotla TE 'Ugljevik', R. Srpska. Korozione procese nije moguće u potpunosti zaustaviti, ali se oni mogu usporiti pa i smanjiti posledice koje oni izazivaju. Da bi se korozija vitalne opreme termoenergetskih postrojenja, a naročito kotlova, svela na minimum, neophodno je u svakom pojedinačnom slučaju odrediti delujući mehanizam korozije kao i uzročnike koji ga izazivaju. Oštećenja i njima izazvani zastoji u radu termoenergetskih postrojenja u velikom broju su izazvani odvijanjem različitih tipova korozionih procesa. Posebna pažnja je posvećena pripremi vode, s obzirom na njen uticaj na pojavu korozije. Vizuelnim pregledom su utvrđene sledeće vrste korozije na ekranskim cevima kotla sa strane vode i pare: eroziona, jamasta i naponska sa prslinama. Unutrašnje površine ekranskih cevi sa kojih je uklonjen ('sljušten') sloj kamenca ukazuju da je usled erozije dolazilo do skidanja kamenca i produkata korozije, odnosno erozione korozije, uz stanjivanje zidova cevi. Prsline (perforacije) na ekranskim cevima koje su zavarene, pokazuju da se odigrala naponska korozija cevi sa obrazovanjem prslina, odnosno da je došlo do pucanja cevi. Rupice (udubljenja) na unutrašnjoj površini ekranskih cevi, vidljive nakon uklanjanja kamenca i produkata korozije, dokaz su da se odigrala tačkasta korozija. Istaknuti su potencijalni uzročnici korozije i dat je predlog mera za njihovo eliminisanje.

Water quality as one of the possible causative agents of corrosion in thermal power plants

AB  - Damage and cancellations of thermal power plants in large numbers are caused due to an inadequate quality of feed water, which occur due to different types of corrosion processes. Water is a good solvent and its chemical composition contains a large number of ingredients which provide its very complex chemical composition. That is the reason why raw water provides possibilities of complex and different corrosion processes. Since water is a basic fluid in power plants, it needs adequate preparation in order to minimize corrosion processes and to control them. It is necessary in each particular case to determine the acting mechanism of corrosion and sources that cause it. This paper presents the basic causes that lead to corrosion in thermal power plants. To achieve a high level of reliability of power plants and achieve their expected lifetime it is necessary to provide high quality water, due to its importance for the occurrence of corrosion. .
AB  - Oštećenja i njima izazvani otkazi termoenergetskih postrojenja u velikom broju su izazvani usled neadekvatnog kvaliteta napojne vode, usled čega se odvijaju različiti tipovi korozionih procesa. Voda je dobar rastvarač i u svom hemijskom sastavu sadrži i veliki broj primesa koje joj daju veoma složen hemijski sastav. Upravo zbog toga sirova voda pruža mogućnost odvijanja niza kompleksnih i različitih korozionih procesa. Zbog toga je vodu, kao osnovni fluid u termoenergetskim postrojenjima, potrebno podvrgnuti adekvatnoj pripremi kako bi se korozioni procesi sveli na minimum i mogli kontrolisati. Neophodno je u svakom pojedinačnom slučaju odrediti delujući mehanizam korozije i uzročnike koji ga izazivaju. U radu su prikazani osnovni uzroci koji dovde do korozije termoenergetskih postrojenja. Da bi se ostvario visok nivo pouzdanosti rada termoelektrana i postigao njihov očekivani radni vek mora se obezbediti visok kvalitet vode, s obzirom na njen značaj za pojavu korozije.

AB  - Ispitivan je uticaj različitih reţima elektrolize (konstantna i reversna struja) na morfologiju bakarnog praha. Morfologija istaloţenog bakarnog praha je proučavana pomoću skening elektronskog mikroskopa (SEM). Diskutovan je efekat katodne i anodne amplitudne gustine struje, odnos katodnog i anodnog vremena kao i vremena katodnog taloţenja i anodnog rastvaranja. Pokazano je da parametri koji određuju oblik talasa reversne struje određuju i mikromorfologiju čestica istaloţenog bakarnog praha.
AB  - The effect different deposition regimes (constant and reversing currents), on the powdered copper electrodeposits morphology were investigated. The morphology of electrodeposited copper powder was investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The effect of the current amplitude, cathodic to anodic time ratio and period of the current wave are discussed. It is shown that the parameters determining the reversing current wave determine the micro-morphology of the copper powder particles deposited.

AB  - Uzorci bakra su podvrgnuti mehaničkom i elektrohemijskom glačanju u odgovarajućim elektrolitima za elektrohemijsko glačanje. Na tako prethodno pripremljene površine supstrata izvršeno je taloţenje prevlaka bakra iz dva kupatila i to iz osnovnog elektrolita (OR) sastava: 240 g/dm3 CuSO4 ∙ 5 H2O + 60 g/dm3 H2SO4 i kupatila sa dodacima za sjaj (OR +DS). Pomoću STM i AFM tehnika precizno su prikazane strukturne osobine koje odreĎuju da li je metalna površina ogledalski sjajna ili ne, odnosno da li dobijena topografija površine manje ili više hrapava. UtvrĎeno je znatno povećanje hrapavosti uzoraka na koje je taloţena prevlaka bakra iz osnovnog sulfatnog kupatila (OR) u odnosu na mehanički i mehanički i elektrohemijske pripremane uzorke. TakoĎe, pri taloţenju prevlaka iz kupatila sa dodacima za sjaj (OR +DS), došlo je do smanjenja hrapavosti površine.
AB  - The samples of rolled copper were mechanically and electrochemically polished in suitable electrolytes for electrochemical polishing. These substrate surfaces that had been prepared in advance, served as the basis for depositing of copper layers from two baths, namely, from the basic electrolyte(OR) with the following composition: 240 g/dm3 CuSO4 ∙ 5 H2O + 60 g/dm3 H2SO4i as well as from the bath which contained brightening addition agents(OR +DS). STM and AFM techniques show in great detail the structural properties which determine whether the metal surfaceis are as bright as a mirrior or not, that is, whether the obtained topography of the surface is more or less rough. It was determined that a considerable increase of roughness occurred in the samples where copper layers were deposited from the basic sulfate bath (OR) when compared with mechanical, and mechanical-electrochemical samples. In addition, depositing of the samples from the bath with brightening addition agents (OR +DS) resulted in the decrease of surface roughness.

abstract = "Uzorci bakra su podvrgnuti mehaničkom i elektrohemijskom glačanju u odgovarajućim elektrolitima za elektrohemijsko glačanje. Na tako prethodno pripremljene površine supstrata izvršeno je taloţenje prevlaka bakra iz dva kupatila i to iz osnovnog elektrolita (OR) sastava: 240 g/dm3 CuSO4 ∙ 5 H2O + 60 g/dm3 H2SO4 i kupatila sa dodacima za sjaj (OR +DS). Pomoću STM i AFM tehnika precizno su prikazane strukturne osobine koje odreĎuju da li je metalna površina ogledalski sjajna ili ne, odnosno da li dobijena topografija površine manje ili više hrapava. UtvrĎeno je znatno povećanje hrapavosti uzoraka na koje je taloţena prevlaka bakra iz osnovnog sulfatnog kupatila (OR) u odnosu na mehanički i mehanički i elektrohemijske pripremane uzorke. TakoĎe, pri taloţenju prevlaka iz kupatila sa dodacima za sjaj (OR +DS), došlo je do smanjenja hrapavosti površine., The samples of rolled copper were mechanically and electrochemically polished in suitable electrolytes for electrochemical polishing. These substrate surfaces that had been prepared in advance, served as the basis for depositing of copper layers from two baths, namely, from the basic electrolyte(OR) with the following composition: 240 g/dm3 CuSO4 ∙ 5 H2O + 60 g/dm3 H2SO4i as well as from the bath which contained brightening addition agents(OR +DS). STM and AFM techniques show in great detail the structural properties which determine whether the metal surfaceis are as bright as a mirrior or not, that is, whether the obtained topography of the surface is more or less rough. It was determined that a considerable increase of roughness occurred in the samples where copper layers were deposited from the basic sulfate bath (OR) when compared with mechanical, and mechanical-electrochemical samples. In addition, depositing of the samples from the bath with brightening addition agents (OR +DS) resulted in the decrease of surface roughness.",

AB  - Polarization characteristics of the electrodeposition processes of Fe powders from sulfate and chloride electrolytes and the morphology of the obtained powders were investigated. The morphology depended on the anion pre sence in the electrolyte but not on the current density in the investigated range. A characteristic feature of the dendritic powder with cauliflower endings obtained from sulfate electrolyte is the presence of cone-like cavities and the crystallite morphology of the powders surface. On the other hand, Fe powders electrodeposited from chloride electrolyte appear in the form of agglomerates. A soap solution treatment applied as a method of washing and drying provides good protection from oxidation of the powders.
AB  - U ovom radu prikazani su rezultati ispitivanja polarizacionih karakteristika procesa taloženja Fe prahova iz sulfatnih i hloridnih elektrolita, kao i morfologija dobijenog praha. Utvrđeno je da morfologija čestica zavisi od vrste anjona prisutnih u elektrolitu, ali ne i od primenjene gustine struje u ispitivanom opsegu. Karakteristično za čestice koje su istaložene iz sulfatnih elektrolita je da su one dendritične sa karfiolastim, kristaliničnim završecima i da poseduju kupaste šupljine. Kod Fe prahova istaloženih iz hloridnih elektrolita uočeni su aglomerati. Korišćenje rastvora sapuna u procesu pranja i sušenja prahova pokazao se kao dobar metod zaštite praha od oksidacije.

AB  - The ionic equilibrium of the species in the CuSO4-H2SO4-H2O system was employed to systematize the conditions of copper electrodeposition leading to the formation of the honeycomb-like structure. The reason why CuSO4 concentrations higher than 0.15 M are unsuitable for the formation of honeycomb-like structures is shown. The range of H2SO4 concentrations enabling the formation of this type of structure was also determined. The conditions leading to the formation of the honeycomb-like structures are: electrodeposition from solutions with lower concentrations of Cu(II) ions (0.15 M CuSO4 and less) in a concentration range from 0.25 to 1.0 M H2SO4, at a temperature of 18.0±1.0°C and at overpotentials outside the plateau of the limiting diffusion current density at which hydrogen evolution is vigorous enough to change the hydrodynamic conditions in the near-electrode layer. .
AB  - Analizirana je jonska ravnoteža u sistemu CuSO4-H2SO4-H2O da bi se sistematizovali uslovi elektrohemijskog taloženja bakra koji dovode do formiranja strukture pčelinjeg saća. Pokazano je da su koncentracije CuSO4 veće od 0,15 M nepogodne za formiranje strukture pčelinjeg saća. Određen je i opseg koncentracija H2SO4 u kojem se formira ovakva struktura. Uslovi koji dovode do formiranja strukture pčelinjeg saća su: elektro- hemijsko taloženje iz rastvora sa koncentracijom Cu(II) od najviše 0,15 M i opsegom koncentracija H2SO4 od 0,25 do 1,0 M, temperature od 18,0±1,0°C, i na prenapetostima pozitivnijim od onih koji odgovaraju platou granične difuzione gustine struje, na kojima je izdvajanje vodonika dovoljno intenzivno da promeni hidrodinamičke uslove u prikatodnom sloju. .

Formation of dish-like holes and a channel structure in electrodeposition of copper under hydrogen co-deposition

AB  - Copper electrodeposition from acid sulfate solutions at an overpotential of 1000 mV, which is about 250 mV outside the plateau of the limiting diffusion current density, was examined by the determination of the average current efficiency of hydrogen evolution and by the scanning electron microscopic (SEM) analysis of the morphology of the formed copper deposits. Craters or holes formed due to the attachment hydrogen bubbles were the dominant morphological forms of copper deposits obtained at this overpotential. In dependence of the concentration of Cu (II) ions in the plating solution, the two types of holes or craters were formed. One type of holes is obtained by electrodeposition from a solution with a concentration of Cu (II) ions of 0.075 M CuSO4 in 0.50 M H2SO4, and a honeycomb-like structure was formed from these holes. The other types of holes are formed from a solution with a higher concentration of Cu (II) ions (0.60 M CuSO4 in 0.50 M H2SO4) and the formed holes were dish-like. A mixture of both types of holes was obtained by electrodeposition from 0.30 M CuSO4 in 0.50 M H2SO4. The obtained morphologies of copper deposits are discussed in terms of the effect of hydrogen evolution on the hydrodynamic conditions in the plating solution.

AB  - Mirror brightness of metal surfaces can be associated with the high degree of mirror reflection which approaches very nearly the ideal reflectance of the same metal. The samples of steel and copper are processed by electrochemical polisher in corresponding electrolytes for electrochemical polishing. On previously mechanically, and further electrochemically polished samples surface roughness and surface reflection were measured. The effect of decreasing surface roughness of electrochemically polished samples was shown compared to only mechanical polished samples. Following the changes in the relation of the mirror, the total and the diffuse reflection, it is confirmed that it came to significant increase of brightness of the surface polished by electrochemical method, compared to initial surface, both for steel samples and for copper samples.
AB  - Ogledalski sjaj metalnih površina se može povezati sa visokim stepenom ogledalske refleksije koji se približava idealnoj refleksivnosti istog metala. Uzorci čelika i bakra su podvrgnuti elektrohemijskom glačanju u odgovarajućim elektrolitima za elektrohemijsko glačanje. Na prethodno mehanički, a zatim elektrohemijskim glačanim uzorcima merena je hrapavost površine i refleksija svetlosti. Pokazan je uticaj smanjenja površinske hrapavosti elektrohemijski glačanih uzoraka u odnosu na samo mehanički glačane uzorke. Prateći promene odnosa ogledalske, ukupne i difuzne refleksije potvrđeno je da je došlo do značajnog povećanja sjaja površine glačane elektrohemijskim putem u odnosu na polaznu površinu, kako za uzorke čelika tako i za uzorke bakra.

AB  - The properties which determine whether the metal surface is mirror bright are precisely determined by STM investigations. Mirror brightness of metal surfaces can be associated with the high degree of mirror reflection which approaches very nearly the ideal reflectance of the same metal. Mirror brightness of the copper coatings and the copper surfaces polished both mechanically and electrochemically was determined by flat and mutually parallel parts of the surface which are smooth on the atomic level and which point out towards layer structure of these surfaces. Mirror bright metal surfaces can be obtained only by electrochemical polishing or electrochemical deposition in the presence of brightening addition agents. It was shown that mirror brightness of metal surfaces can be associated with the high degree of mirror reflection which approaches very nearly the ideal reflectance of the same metal, with the small degree of diffuse reflection.
AB  - Osobine koje određuju da li je metalna površina ogledalski sjajna ili ne su precizno određene AFM i STM ispitivanjima. Ogledalski sjaj metalnih površina se može povezati sa visokim stepenom ogledalske refleksije koji se približava idealnoj refleksivnosti istog metala. Ogledalski sjaj prevlaka bakra i površina bakra glačanih i mehanički i elektrohemijski je određen ravnim i međusobno paralelenim, atomski glatkim delovima površine koji ukazuju na njihovu slojevitu strukturu. Ogledalski sjajne metalne površine mogu da se dobiju jedino elektrohemijskim glačanjem ili elektrohemijskim taloženjem u prisustvu dodataka za sjaj. AB  - The effect of temperature on the electrodeposition of copper at overpotentials belonging to the plateau of the limiting diffusion current density and higher was examined by the determination of the average current efficiency of hydrogen evolution and by scanning electron microscopic (SEM) analysis of the morphology of the formed copper deposits. Increasing the temperature of the solution led to a shift of both the beginning and the end of the plateau of the limiting diffusion current density towards lower electrodeposition overpotentials. Also, higher temperatures led to the formation of morphological forms of copper deposits characteristic for electrodeposition of copper at some higher overpotentials. The unexpected trend in the development of copper structures electrodeposited at an overpotential of 800 mV is discussed in terms of the effect of temperature on the viscosity and surface tension of the electroplating solution.
AB  - Uticaj temperature na elektrohemijsko taloženje bakra na prenapetostima koje pripadaju platoima granične difuzione gustine struje, kao i na višim prenapetostima je ispitan određivanjem srednjeg iskorišćenja struje reakcije izdvajanja vodonika i analizom morfologija taloga bakra tehnikom skenirajuće elektronske mikroskopije. Povećanje temperature rastvora dovelo je do pomeranja i početka i kraja platoa granične difuzione gustine struje ka nižim prenapetostima. Takođe, povećanje temperature dovelo je do formiranja morfoloških formi taloga bakra karakterističnih za elektrohemijsko taloženje na nekim višim prenapetostima. Neočekivani trend u razvoju struktura bakra dobijenih na prenapetosti od 800 mV je bio diskutovan na osnovu uticaja temperature na viskoznost i površinski napon rastvora za elektrohemijsko taloženje bakra.

AB  - The effect different deposition regimes (constant and reversing currents), on the powdered copper electrodeposits morphology were investigated. The morphology of electrodeposited copper powder were investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The effect of the current amplitude cathodic to anodic time ratio and period of the current wave are discussed. It is shown that the parameters determining the reversing current wave determine the micromorfology of the copper powder particles deposited.
AB  - Ispitivan je uticaj različitih režima elektrolize (konstantna i reversna struja) na morfologiju bakarnog praha. Morfologija istaloženog bakarnog praha je proučavana pomoću skening elektronskog mikroskopa (SEM). Diskutovan je efekat katodne i anodne amplitudne gustine struje, odnos katodnog i anodnog vremena kao i vremena katodnog taloženja i anodnog rastvaranja. Pokazano je da parametri koji određuju oblik talasa reversne struje određuju i mikromorfologiju čestica istaloženog bakarnog praha.

the plateau of the limiting diffusion current density. The shape of copper dendrites depends on the electrodeposition overpotential. At higher

morphologies were a consequence of a very vigorous hydrogen evolution at these electrodeposition overpotentials. Also, the obtained copper
structures consisted of agglomerates of copper grains. The size of copper grains is a function of the overpotential of electrodeposition, thus
approaching to nano-sized dimensions is achieved when the electrodeposition overpotential is increased.

AB  - In this paper the surface roughness of silver coatings electrodeposited as final coatings onto aluminum was analyzed. The copper coating was electrodeposited as a basic coating directly onto aluminum. Afterward, nickel and copper coatings from acidic bath were deposited. Silver was electrodeposited on the acidic bath copper coating. Also the influence of fluorides in the solution for direct electro deposition of basic copper coatings on the structure of the final silver coating was investigated. The surface roughness was measured with device TR 200. Silver coatings can be successfully electrodeposited as a final coating onto aluminum with nickel and copper inter coatings.
AB  - U radu je analizirana površinska hrapavost elektrohemijski istaloženih prevlaka srebra, kao završnih prevlaka na aluminijumu. Bakarna prevlaka taložena je galvanostatski neposredno na aluminijum kao osnovna prevlaka. Nakon toga je taložena prevlake nikla i kao završna prevlaka taložena je prevlaka srebra. U radu je takođe ispitivan uticaj prisustva fluorida u elektrolitu za direktno elektrohemijsko taloženje prevlaka bakra na strukturu završne prevlake srebra. Površinska hrapavost je merena uređajem TR 200. AB  - The copper coatings were electrodeposited directly onto aluminium from the bath: (CuSO4 (55 g/dm3) + CH2 NH2 - CH2OH (100g/ dm3) + (NH4)2SO4 (30 g/dm3) + Na2SO4(10H2O (75g/dm3) + Na2CO3 (3g/dm3), room temperature, j = 0.3 - 0.8 A/dm2, pH = 10.3-8.5. The copper coatings deposited onto Al show good adhesion. Removal of passive oxide film from aluminium surface was chemically accomplished in solutions 1-4. The effect of current density, deposition time and electrolytic pH on roughness of copper coatings were studied. Roughness of Cu coatings was measured by TR200.

AB  - In this paper the structural characteristics of silver coatings electrodeposited as final coatings onto aluminum were shown. The copper coating was electrodeposited as a basic coating directly onto aluminum. Afterward, nickel and copper coatings from acidic bath were deposited. Silver was electrodeposited on the acidic bath copper coating. Also the influence of fluorides in the solution for direct electrodepositing of basic copper coating on the structure of the final silver coatings was investigated. Structural characteristics of basic copper coatings and final silver coatings were examined with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Silver coatings can be successfully electrodeposited as a final coating onto aluminum with nickel and copper inter coatings.
AB  - U ovom radu su prikazani morfologija i strukturne karakteristike elektrohemijski istaloženih prevlaka srebra, kao završnih prevlaka, na aluminiju i njegovim legurama. Bakarna prevlaka je elektrohemijski taložena neposredno na aluminijum kao osnovna prevlaka. Nakon toga, prevlaka nikla i prevlaka bakra iz kiselog kupatila je takođe elektrohemijski taložena. Na ovaj sistem prevlaka taložena je prevlaka srebra. U radu je takođe je ispitivan uticaj fluorida и elektrolitu za direktno taloženje prevlaka bakra na strukturu završne prevlake srebra. Morfologija i strukturne karakteristike istaloženih prevlaka su ispitivane skenirajućom elektronskom mikroskopijom (SEM). Pokazano je da se srebrne prevlake mogu uspešno nanositi kao završne prevlake na aluminijum i njegove legure sa međuprevlakama bakra i nikla.

AB  - The copper coatings were electrodeposited directly onto aluminum from the following solution: CuSO4-⋅5H2O (55 g/dm3) + CH2 NH2 - CH2OH (100 g/dm3) (NH4)2SO4 (30 g/dm3) + Na2SO4 - 10H2O (75 g/dm3) + Na2CO3 (3g/dm3), room temperature, current density j = 0.6 A/dm2 at pH = 10.3-8.5. It is shown in this paper that by lowering the pH value, the coverage of the base metal is decreasing and the coating is continuing its growth on the already created centers of crystallization. The fluorides in the form of NaF, concentration varying from 0.5 to 3 g/dm3, were added to the electrolyte for copper electrochemical deposition. Increasing the concentration of the fluorides the structure of the copper coating is changing; crystalline grains are larger, the coating is more porous and the coverage of the base metal is smaller, but the growth of the new layers of coating onto already existing centers of crystallization is more intense.

AB  - The structure of powder particleswas analysed by considering their cross sections. It was shown that the structure of powder particles of nonsieved flowing powders is sufficiently dense to produce a continuous surface, which does not allow the particles to jam and hence permits the free flow of nonsieved powder. It was also shown that the representative powder particle the elementary cell of which can be presented by a 3D-cross, describes the properties of the powder relative to its flowability well.
AB  - Analizirana je struktura čestica praha razmatranjem njihovog poprečnog preseka Pokazano je da je struktura čestica nesejanog praha koji teče dovoljno gusta da obrazuje kontinualnu površinu, koja ne dozvoljava zaglavljivanje čestica i samim tim omogućava slobodno tečenje nesejanih prahova. Takođe je pokazano da reprezentativna čestica praha, čija se elementarna ćelija može predstaviti 3D-krstom, dobro opisuje osobine praha koje se odnose na tečljivost.

Takođe je pokazano da reprezentativna čestica praha, čija se elementarna ćelija može predstaviti 3D-krstom, dobro opisuje osobine praha koje se odnose na tečljivost.",

AB  - One of the main concerns in the production of electrolytic copper powder is stabilisation. Nonstabilised powder has a large surface area exposed to the effects of oxygen and moisture from the air. This leads to oxidation and formation of corrosion products on the grain surface and, in this way, the powder becomes unsuitable for sintering. Stabilisation is mostly obtained by interaction between the clean surface of the electrodeposited copper powder and a solution of an active substance, which inhibits the corrosion of copper powders. This work describes the stabilisation of copper powders using a new method. The oxygen content, moisture content, and corrosion resistance of the stabilised electrolytic copper powder were determined. These values are compared with the corresponding values of other corrosion inhibitors of copper powder.

The effect of preparation of aluminum surface on surface roughness

AB  - Aluminum samples were electrochemically polished in one of three solutions for electrochemical polishing. On those samples the surface roughness was measured. The effect of the anode treatment on surface roughness was also investigated. The zinc coating was deposited on chemically and electrochemically treated aluminum samples, and afterwards the surface roughness of these samples was measured. Based on the results it was determined that from all of the solutions for electrochemical polishing, the most efficient solution is the solution number II. Aluminum samples treated with this solution are the least rough. It was determined that chemically deposited zinc coating on previously chemically and electrochemically treated samples leads to significant lowering of surface roughness. The anodic treatment of aluminum surface significantly lowers surface roughness also.
AB  - Uzorci aluminijuma su podvrgavani elektrohemijskom glačanju u jednom od tri rastvora za elektrohemijsko glačanje. Na tako pripremljenim uzorcima merena je površinska hrapavost. Takođe je ispitivan i uticaj anadne obrade na površinsku hrapavost aluminijuma. Na hemijski i elektrohemijski pripremljene uzorke aluminijuma, taložena je prevlaka cinka hemijskim putem, a potom merena površinska hrapavost ovakvih uzoraka. Na osnovu dobijenih rezultata ustanovljeno je da je od ispitivanih rastvora za elektrohemijsko glačanje najefikasniji rastvor II. Uzorci aluminijuma tretirani u ovom rastvoru imaju najmanju hrapavost. Ustanovljeno je da usled taloženja hemijske prevlake cinka na prethodno hemijski i elektrohemijski tretirane uzorke dolazi do znatnog smanjenja površinske hrapavosti. Anodna obrada uzoraka takođe značajno smanjuje površinsku hrapavost.

AB  - The microstructure of the chemical coating of zinc on aluminum, as well as electrodeposited nickel coating on chemically deposited zinc were investigated with change of one parameter only-deposition time. Based on the structural characteristics of top coating of nickel, the optimum time for deposition of nickel coating was determine at the same conditions. Structural characteristics of metallic coatings were investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).
AB  - Ispitivana je mikrostruktura hemijske prevlake cinka na aluminijumu, kao i prevlake nikla koja je elektrohemijski taložena na hemijsku prevlaku cinka uz promenu samo jednog parametara-vremena taloženja. Na osnovu strukturnih karakteristika završne prevlake nikla, ustanovljeno je optimalno vreme taloženja prevlaka nikla pri datim uslovima. Strukturne karakteristike metalnih prevlaka ispitivane su skenirajućom tunelirajućom mikroskopijom (STM).

AB  - Aluminum samples were electrochemically polished in one of three solutions for electrochemical polishing. On those samples the surface reflection was measured. The effect of the anode treatment as the interface between the chemical preparation and electrochemical polishing on the surface reflection was shown. Based on the results it can be concluded that among all the solutions investigated, the most efficient solution for electrochemical polishing is the solution number II. Aluminum samples treated with this solution have the greatest reflection. The effects of temperature change and stirring on the aluminum reflection were also investigated. It was shown that mirror brightness of metal surfaces can be associated with the high degree of mirror reflection which approaches very nearly the ideal reflectance of the same metal, with the small degree of diffuse reflection.
AB  - Uzorci aluminijuma su podvrgavani elektrohemijskom glačanju u jednom od tri rastvora za elektrohemijsko glačanje. Na tako pripremljenim uzorcima merena je površinska refleksija svetlosti. Pokazan je i uticaj anadne obrade kao među faze između hemijske pripreme i elektrohemijskog glačanja na refleksiju aluminijuma. Na osnovu dobijenih rezultata može se zaključiti da je od ispitivanih rastvora za elektrohemijsko glačanje, najefikasniji rastvor II. The effect of preparation of aluminum surface on the structure of final coating of nickel

AB  - In this work structure characteristics of the final coating of nickel were studied. Nickel was deposited onto chemically prepared aluminum, chemically and electrochemically. Structural characteristics of metallic coatings on aluminum were inspected by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). It was concluded that process of preparation of aluminum determines the structure of final coating.
AB  - U radu su prikazane strukturne karakteristike završne prevlake nikla Prevlake nikla su taložene na hemijski pripremljen aluminijum, hemijskim i elektrohemijskim putem. Strukturne karakteristike metalnih prevlaka ispitivane su skenirajućom elektronskom mikroskopijom (SEM) i skenirajućom tunelskom mikroskopijom (STM). Ustanovljeno je da način pripreme površine aluminijuma bitno utiče na strukturu završne prevlake.
