abstract = "Hydrogeochemical researches of underground and surface water in the territory of NW Barka included area of 500 km(2). Applied hydrogeochemical prospection is in accordance with morphological-hydrogeological characteristics of the terrain and 507 samples of water were collected. In water, contents of U, Ra, Rn, Pb, Zn, Cu, Mo, Li, Sr were determined, as well as anions: HCO3-, SO42-, Cl- and cations: Ca2+, Mg2+, and content of SiO2, as well as Eh, Ep and pH value. By additional water researches, contents of: NO3-, F-, Br-, J(') and P were also determined. Values of uranium content varied within the interval from 0,1 ppb to 125 ppb; Ra from 0,026 Bq/L to 0,33 Bq/L and Rn from 1,45 Bq/L to 32,63 Bq/L.At selected locations, 51 sample was collected from A horizon (15-20 cm) of the humus cover and uranium content was analyzed. Research results are presented in diagrams, tables and hydrogeochemical maps in ratio 1:50000.The objective of the research is application of the method of hydrogeochemical prospection in identifying geopathogenic zones and anthropogenic influence of natural radionuclides in living environment of rural settlements.",
