AB - In this study, the interferometric (holographic) approach is used to unveil the dynamics of the phase transition, e.g., the formation of solid iodine in the Briggs-Rauscher (BR) non-equilibrium system. Subsequently, after deterministic oscillatory dynamics this system undergoes random transition from state I (low iodide and iodine concentration) to state II (high iodide and iodine concentration, with the formation of solid iodine).

AB - The preparation of zeolite rich polymeric materials presents a challenge due to the zeolite settlingduring synthesis, poor miscibility, the phase separation and generally insufficient interactionsbetween polymers and zeolites. Combination of LTA, i.e. MFI, zeolite and poly(methacrylic acid) in theform of soft hydrogel network provided the stabilization of the zeolite particles and enabled synthesisof composite hydrogels with very high zeolite concentrations (26-52 mass%).The investigated morphological, mechanical and primary structural properties, water swelling abilityand thermal stability revealed high dependence on zeolite concentration and type. Zeolite particleswere uniformly dispersed in PMAA matrix as confirmed by SEM and there was no agglomeration orzeolite leaching despite very high concentrations. FTIR spectra disclosed the existence of functionalgroups of PMAA network and both zeolite types that interacted mutually and led to increasedcrosslinking density. The established interactions changed the PMAA chain dynamics around theparticles, especially of the LTA type, as showed by XRD. Having much more surface groups capable togenerate interaction with PMAA, LTA zeolite stronger affected all of the investigated properties.Composites’ mechanics was improved both in dry and swollen state compared to the PMAA hydrogel(up to 21.8 times for the sample with the highest LTA concentration). Thermal stability of thecomposites increased with increasing zeolite concentration. The composition-property correlations were determined making this work the base for furtherdevelopment of tailor-made zeolite-PMAA composite hydrogels aimed for specific application.Composites were tested as low-cost, regenerative, environmentally friendly sorbents and showedbetter removal of cationic dye compared to both components (PMAA and zeolite) alone.

AB - Thermal monitoring of a Briggs-Rauscher oscillatory reaction with a phase transition or the state I (low concentration of iodide and iodine) to the state II (high concentration of iodide and iodine) transition with formation of new solid iodine phase is presented. This is the very first time that an oscillatory reaction and the state I to state II transition have been monitored using a thermal camera. It should be pointed out, that the BR reaction solution is not homogenized by stirring, and that only oxygen production influence the solution mixing. Therefore, the analysis was done at three sampling points on the cuvette where temperature change over time was observed, and compared with average temperature distribution. The first point is chosen to correspond to the top of the solution in the cuvette, followed by one in the middle of the volume and one at the very bottom of the cuvette. Although the state I to the state II transition itself is not reproducible (investigated transition exhibits crazy clock behavior), the overall temperature pattern has shown a reproducible character.

AB - The corrugation of the structure is a special property of the material that has a great influence on almost all other characteristics of the same. The connection between materials based on the corrugation of natural structures such as Apatura butterfly wings and its examination (the six samples of same species) by the method of holographic interferometry (with four different wavelengths of laser radiation) is presented in this paper. The concept of material's corrugation elasticity is presented as well as the advantages of this concept. The holographic method was implemented as appropriate for monitoring the structure dynamics at the nanoscale. Finally, the important factor that impacts the elasticity of the corrugation of the material lies in the optical factors of the environment is emphasized, i.e., in the light of laser radiation that structure interferes with. A completely non-linear dependence on the wavelengths of light is shown, where for wavelengths of 532 nm and 660 nm the elasticity of the corrugation is observed, while for 450 nm and 980 nm a plastic deformation of the corrugation is observed. These preliminary studies open new possibilities in the synthesis and testing of different materials and monitoring of their dynamics in real time.

AB - This mini review discusses the phenomenon of thermophoresis, also known as the thermophoretic effect. Thermophoretic
effect arises from the combination of a temperature gradient and particles of very small dimensions, on the order of magnitude
of the mean free path of the molecules of the surrounding gas. Despite being a little-known effect, it is critical to many physical
and chemical processes and for characterising the properties of nanostructured materials that could be used in industry for
sensing applications. A description and definition of otherwise very similar thermophoresis terms is provided, as well as a brief
overview of the literature on this topic, with a focus on research in the twenty-first century

AB - The material’s size and shape influence its physical, chemical and mechanical properties. This study describes an investigation of natural photonic structure of the butterfly’s wing, mainly composed of chitin. The effect of corrugations at the nanoscale on material’s optical response is unambiguously revealed in the presented thermal measurements. Furthermore, the presented study shows the possibility of exploiting holography to monitor dynamics in situ.

AB - The article deals with the length differences between georeference
surfaces within the state coordinate system of Serbia. It’s an
analysis starting from the topography, through geoid and ellipsoid,
to the map projection. During the literature review, analyses
of the length changes from topography to the state map projection
for the geographic territory of Serbia were not found. The
set of initial data consists DEM and the geoid model, as well as
vector data that contain the boundary of the research area.
Calculation will be performed on the basis of 88439 points of
grids, located at a distance of 1 km, while the analysis will be
done by comparing average deformations, extreme deformation
values, percentage of positive and negative values of deformations,
as well as percentage of length without deformations. The
aim of this research is to provide a set of data on length differences
that covers the entire territory of Serbia.

AB - Poly(urethane-siloxane) networks based on hydroxyethoxy propyl terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) as the soft segment and 4,4'-methylenediphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and two hyperbranched polyesters with different core as the hard segments were characterized by swelling experiments, thermal analyses (DSC and TG), thermomechanical analysis (DMTA), X-ray scattering studies, SEM and AFM analyses, water contact angle and water absorption measurements, as well as surface free energy determination. From these studies, structure-property relationships were elucidated. Hyperbranched polyesters based on 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid and ethoxylated pentaerythritol or di-trimethylolpropane as core (BH-40 and HBP-4) were used as crosslinkers for the samples of different series. Both series are composed of samples having different PDMS (i.e., soft segment) content. The crosslinking density and extent of hydrogen bonding showed an influence on the polyurethane (PU) properties. It was found that higher crosslinking density and better thermal stability of PUs based on BH-40 compared to HBP-4 based PUs are due to the less dense structure of BH-40. DMTA experiments revealed that the networks exhibit two glass transition temperatures, of the soft and hard segments, and one secondary relaxation process. The crosslinking density and extent of the microphase separation increased and thermomechanical properties were improved with decreasing content of PDMS. With increasing PDMS content, the surface of the polyurethane networks became more hydrophobic, the surface free energy decreased and thermal stability was improved. The obtained results revealed that synthesized PUs have good thermal and thermomechanical properties, which can be tailored for the potential use in the coating technology by changing the type of hyperbranched polyester or PDMS content.

AB - The aim of this work was to synthesize a new series of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) nanocomposites in order to improve thermal, mechanical, barrier and biocompatible properties of TPUs for potential biomedical applications. Nanocomposites with 20 wt. % of hard segments were prepared with addition of organically modified montmorillonite clay (Cloisite 30B) by in situ two-step polyaddition reaction in solution. Hard segment of TPU prepared in the form of film, consist of 4,4'-methylenediphenyl diisocyanate and 1,4- butanediol, while α,ω-dihydroxyethoxy propyl poly(dimethylsiloxane) was used as the soft segment. Different content of organoclay (1, 3, 5, 8 and 10 wt. %) was incorporated into TPU matrix in order to examine the influence of the nanoclay content on the structure, morphology and thermal properties. The structure of obtained nanocomposites was confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy. Morphological characterization of nanocomposites was carried out using wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. SEM and WAXD results confirmed a well dispersion of intercalateed/exfoliated structure of organoclay nanofillers in the TPU matrix, when the content was up to 5 wt. %. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) revealed that incorporation of organoclay particles significantly enhances the thermal stability of nanocomposites in comparison with pure TPU. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to determine the melting, crystallization and glass transition temperatures of hard segments, which was found to shift toward higher temperatures upon increasing the organoclay content to 5 wt. %, but then there were no changes when the organoclay content increased to 10 wt. %. The presence of layered silicates from organically modified montmorillonite clay in TPUs can result in more ordered hard segments having higher melting temperature, that in other hand show loss in crystallinity of the hard segments. It is estimated that the total degree of crystallinity of nanocomposites was in the range from 3.1 to 3.9 %, while for pure TPU it was 4.3 %. It can be concluded that the organoclay particles are homogeneously dispersed in TPU matrix with lower content of organoclay and preferentially embedded in the hard segment phase of TPUs.

AB - A series of novel polyurethane crosslinked structures (PUs) was prepared from α,ω-dihydroxy-(ethylene oxide-poly(dimethylsiloxane)-ethylene oxide) (EO-PDMS-EO), 4,4'-methylenediphenyl diisocyanate and Boltorn ® hyperbranched polyester of the third pseudo generation. The hydroxyfunctional hyperbranched aliphatic polyester with 26 end groups was used as a crosslinking agent. In order to improve the compatibility of all the reactants during the synthesis, the PU samples were prepared by two-stage, step-growth polymerization in solution. The content of the soft EO-PDMS-EO segments was varied in the range from 15 to 40 wt. %. The influence of the EO-PDMS-EO content on the swelling behavior, crosslink density, hardness, and the thermal and surface properties of the synthesized PUs was investigated. The structure of the synthesized polyurethanes was confirmed by the presence of specific bands in the Fourier transform infrared spectra. Swelling studies were performed to determine the crosslink density and polyurethane networks with lower EO-PDMS-EO contents had higher crosslink densities. The glass transition temperature of the synthesized PUs, determined by differential scanning calorimetry, slightly increased from 50 to 58°C on decreasing the EO-PDMS-EO content because of the higher crosslink density of the samples. Increasing the EO-PDMS-EO content led to better thermal stability, as was evidenced by the onset temperature of weight loss. The surface of the polyurethane networks became more hydrophobic with increasing EO-PDMS-EO content. The surface morphology of synthesized polyurethanes was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy.

abstract = "A series of novel polyurethane crosslinked structures (PUs) was prepared from α,ω-dihydroxy-(ethylene oxide-poly(dimethylsiloxane)-ethylene oxide) (EO-PDMS-EO), 4,4'-methylenediphenyl diisocyanate and Boltorn ® hyperbranched polyester of the third pseudo generation. The surface morphology of synthesized polyurethanes was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy., U ovom radu prikazana je sinteza, struktura i neka svojstva novih umreženih poliuretana pripremljenih polazeći od α,ω-dihidroksi-(etilenoksid-poli(dimetilsiloksan)-etilenoksid) pretpolimera (EO-PDMS-EO), 4,4'-metilendifenildiizocijanata i Boltorn® hiperrazgranatog poliestra treće pseudo-generacije.

AB - Self-assembled conducting, paramagnetic polyaniline nanotubes have been synthesized by the oxidative polymerization of aniline with ammonium peroxydisulfate in aqueous medium in the presence of zeolite HZSM-5, without added acid. The influence of initial zeolite/aniline weight ratio on the conductivity, molecular and supramolecular structure, paramagnetic characteristics, thermal stability, and specific surface area of poly aniline/zeolite composites was studied. The conducting (∼10-2S cm-1), semiconducting (3 × 10-5 S cm-1), and nonconducting (5 × 10-9 S cm-1) composites are produced using the zeolite/aniline weight ratios 1, 5, and 10, respectively. The coexistence of polyaniline nanotubes, which have a typical outer diameter of 70-170 nm and an inner diameter of 5-50 nm, accompanied by nanorods with a diameter of 60-100 nm and polyaniline/zeolite mesoporous aggregates, distinct from the morphology of mieroporous zeolite HZSM-5, was proved in the conducting nanocomposite by scanning and transmission electron microscopies. FTIR spectroscopy confirmed the presence of polyaniline in the form of conducting emeraldine salt and suggested significant interaction of polyaniline with zeolite. The evolution of molecular and supramolecular structure of polyaniline in the presence of zeolite was discussed.
