Ambalaža od polimernih materijala za pakovanje prehrambenih, farmaceutskih i kozmetičkih proizvoda

AB  - Preko 90 % proizvoda koji se danas nalaze na svetskom tržištu je upakovano u neku vrstu ambalaže. Ekonomski značaj ambalaže je vrlo veliki zato što pakovanje predstavlja završnu operaciju u svim industrijskim granama i što u ceni svakog pakovanog proizvoda, prosečni udeo ambalaže iznosi oko 2 %.
Do 1950. godine ambalaža je izrađivana prevashodno od standardnih ambalažnih materijala kao što su papir, karton, staklo, metal, keramika, drvo, celofan i tkanine od prirodnih vlakana. Potrebe za pakovanjem sve većih količina različitih proizvoda nisu mogle da budu zadovoljene izradom ambalaže samo od navedenih standardnih ambalažnih materijala, pa su u te svrhe počeli da se koriste i u to vreme novi polimerni ambalažni materijali na bazi fosilnih i obnovljivih sirovina. Zahvaljujući dobrim svojstvima, maloj gustini, lakoj preradljivosti i relativno niskoj ceni dostupnih sirovina u periodu od 1950. godine do danas upotreba ambalaže od polimernih ambalažnih materijala toliko je porasla da se danas u ovu ambalažu pakuje preko 50 % pakovnih jedinica na svetskom tržištu. U svetu je u 2015. godini proizvedeno 322 miliona tona polimera, a za proizvodnju ambalaže korišćeno je oko 35 mas.%, odnosno oko 110 miliona tona. Ovako brz porast proizvodnje i potrošnje u navedenom periodu nije zabeležen ni za jednu drugu vrstu ambalažnih materijala.
Od stručnjaka koji se bavi proizvodnjom polimernih ambalažnih materijala i ambalaže za pakovanje npr. nekog prehrambenog proizvoda, očekuje se da, poznavajući svojstva pakovanog proizvoda i polimernih ambalažnih materijala, izabere odgovarajući polimerni ambalažni materijal, pogodnu mašinu za oblikovanje ambalaže, unošenje u nju proizvoda koji se pakuje i način zatvaranja ambalaže. Zajedno sa drugim stručnjacima iz lanca proizvodnje oni treba da odrede vreme postojanosti, odnosno upotrebljivosti pakovanog proizvoda, način skladištenja i transporta do potrošača u bilo kom delu sveta. Pored toga, oni treba da predlože i najbolji način prikupljanja iskorišćene i odbačene ambalaže i njene ponovne upotrebe recikliranjem u nove materijale, koji će moći ponovo da se koriste za izradu ambalaže ili sagorevanjem prevedu u toplotu. Da bi mogli da ispune sve zadatke koji se pred njih postavljaju, stručnjaci koji se bave ambalažom od polimernih ambalažnih materijala moraju u toku svog obrazovanja da se detaljno upoznaju sa njihovim svojstvima i njihovim interakcijama sa pakovanim proizvodima i okolinom, kao i načinom modifikovanja njihovih svojstava kako bi ih prilagodili za pakovanje različitih proizvoda.
U zadnjih desetak godina odigrala su se i dva događaja od opšteg društvenog značaja. U Evropi je 2009. godine promovisana Bioekonomija kao nova naučna disciplina, kojoj je osnovni cilj da postojeću ekonomiju na bazi fosilnih sirovina zameni ekonomijom na bazi obnovljivih sirovina. U Nemačkoj je 2012. godine donet Zakon o ekonomiji kružnog toka koji je prihvaćen u zemljama EU, kao i u drugim razvijenim zemljama sveta. Oba ova događaja u razvijenim zemljama već imaju značajan uticaj na dalji razvoj privrede u celini, pa samim tim i na industriju proizvodnje polimernih ambalažnih materijala i ambalaže. U našoj zemlji ovim događajima nije poklonjena odgovarajuća pažnja. Zbog toga su se autori odlučili da napišu knjigu pod nazivom Ambalaža od polimernih materijalaza za pakovanje prehrambenih, farmaceutskih i kozmetičkih proizvoda i tako olakšaju našim stručnjacima da se bolje informišu i na vreme prihvate nove pravce razvoja proizvodnje, primene i ponovne upotrebe ambalaže od polimernih materijala.
Knjiga je podeljena u devet poglavlja. U prvom poglavlju prikazani su osnovni pojmovi o ambalaži i zadaci koje ona treba da ispunjava. Ukratko su prikazani i najznačajniji materijali koji se koriste za izradu ambalaže. U drugom poglavlju su ukratko i na jednostavan način prikazani načini sinteze polimera, njihova molekulska i nadmolekulska struktura, kao i njihov uticaj na pojedina svojstva polimera. Prikazani su najznačajniji polimeri na bazi fosilnih i obnovljivih sirovina i njihova osnovna svojstva, kao i načini kako se mogu menjati njihova svojstva i prilagoditi za izradu ambalažnih materijala i ambalaže. U trećem poglavlju prikazane su tehnike prerade polimera u polimerne ambalažne materijale i njihovo korišćenje za izradu ambalaže i pakovanje izabranih proizvoda. U četvrtom poglavlju prikazane su interakcije pakovanih proizvoda sa ambalažom i okolinom. U petom poglavlju su prikazani postupci oplemenjivanja površine polimernih ambalažnih materijala i gotove ambalaže. U šestom poglavlju su prikazane moderne tehnike pakovanja prevashodno prehrambenih proizvoda. U sedmom poglavlju su ukratko opisane standardne metode karakterisanja polimernih ambalažnih materijala i gotove ambalaže. U osmom poglavlju ukazano je na doprinos održivom razvoju primenom i ponovnom upotrebom – recikliranjem ambalaže od polimernih materijala na bazi fosilnih i obnovljivih sirovina. Prihvatanjem Zakona o ekonomiji kružnog toka, značajno je porastao interes za ponovnu upotrebu odbačene ambalaže od polimernih materijala, odnosno proizvodnju sekundarnih sirovina koje će se prevashodno koristiti za izradu ambalaže, pa je zbog toga ovoj problematici posvećena posebna pažnja. U poglavlju 9 prikazani su pravci razvoja ambalaže od polimernih materijala uzimajući u obzir i dešavanja u poslednjih deset godina na tržištu ovih proizvoda.
Autori su ovu knjigu namenili pre svega studentima i nastavnicima fakulteta i viših škola na kojima se održava nastava o ambalaži i pakovanju prehrambenih, farmaceutskih i kozmetičkih proizvoda, kao i uvodna nastava o polimernim materijalima i njihovoj ponovnoj upotrebi kao sekundarnih sirovina. Pored toga, autori ovu knjigu preporučuju ne samo stručnjacima zaposlenim u firmama koje se bave proizvodnjom, korišćenjem i dizajnom ambalaže od polimernih ambalažnih materijala, već i onima koji su zaduženi za prikupljanje korišćene ambalaže od polimernih materijala i njene ponovne upotrebe recikliranjem u nove materijale i sirovine ili u cilju dobijanja energije.

AB  - A short review of biopolymers based on starch (starch derivatives, thermoplastic starch), lignin and hemicelluloses, chitin (chitosan) and products obtained by degradation of starch and other polysaccharides and sugars (poly(lactic acid), poly(hydroxyalkanoates)), as well as some of their basic properties and application area, are given in this part. The problem of environmental and economic feasibility of biopolymers based on renewable raw materials and their competitiveness with polymers based on fossil raw materials is discussed. Also pointed out are the problems that appear due to the increasing use of agricultural land for the production of raw materials for the chemical industry and energy, instead for the production of food for humans and animals. The optimistic assessments of experts considering the development perspectives of biopolymers based on renewable raw materials in the next ten years have also been pointed out. At the end of the paper, the success of a team of researchers gathered around the experts from the company Bayer is indicated. They were the first in the world to develop a catalyst by which they managed to effectively activate CO- and incorporate it into polyols, used for the synthesis of polyurethanes in semi-industrial scale. By applying this process, for the first time a pollutant will be used as a basic raw material for the synthesis of organic compounds, which will have significant consequences on the development of the chemical industry, and therefore the production of polymers.
AB  - U okviru ovoga dijela rada dan je kratak prikaz biopolimera na bazi škroba (derivati škroba, termoplastièni škrob), lignina i hemiceluloze, hitina (hitozan) i na bazi proizvoda razgradnje škroba, drugih polisaharida i šećera (poli(mliječna kiselina), polihidroksialkanoati), kao i neka njihova osnovna svojstva i područje primjene. Razmatran je problem ekološke i ekonomske prihvatljivosti biopolimera na bazi obnovljivih sirovina i njihove konkurentnosti s polimerima na bazi fosilnih sirovina. Ukazano je i na probleme do kojih već dolazi zbog sve veće upotrebe poljoprivrednog zemljišta za proizvodnju sirovina za kemijsku industriju i energente, umjesto za proizvodnju hrane za ljude i životinje. Ukazano je također na optimistične procjene stručnjaka o perspektivi razvoja proizvodnje biopolimera na bazi obnovljivih sirovina. Na kraju rada je ukazano i na uspjeh tima istraživača okupljenih oko stručnjaka tvrtke Bayer, koji su prvi u svijetu razvili katalizator, pomoću kojeg su uspjeli učinkovito aktivirati CO i ugraditi ga u poliole, koje upotrebljavaju za sintezu poliuretana u poluindrustrijskim razmjerima. Ovim postupkom će prvi put jedan zagađivač biti upotrijebljen kao osnovna sirovina za sintezu organskih spojeva, što će imati nesagledive posljedice na razvoj kemijske industrije, a samim tim i proizvodnje polimera.

AB  - This paper gives an overview of the production and application of polymer materials based on renewable raw materials * biopolymers. It is pointed out that, investment of resources in the study of renewable raw materials in the last twenty years has led to the improvement of old and development of completely new chemical and biochemical processes for using biomass for the production of low molecular weight chemical substances, and especially for the production of biopolymers, which are biodegradable and compostable, and biopolymers which are nonbiodegradable. In the same period, producers of polymers based on fossil raw materials have also developed biopolymers that are biodegradable and some of them compostable and, most important, compatible with biopolymers based on renewable raw materials. The facts considering the state of biopolymers based on renewable raw materials on the market, and prediction of production increase over the next five years are also stated. Additionally, the main renewable raw materials and the biopolymers made from them that are already present in the world market are briefly listed. A short review of biopolymers based on cellulose from wood and annual plants is also given.
AB  - U okviru ovoga rada dan je pregled stanja u proizvodnji i primjeni polimernih materijala na bazi obnovljivih sirovina – biopolimera. Ukazano je na to da su ulaganjem sredstava u izučavanje obnovljivih sirovina u posljednjih dvadesetak godina unaprijeđeni stari i razvijeni potpuno novi kemijski i biokemijski postupci uporabe biomase za dobivanje niskomolekulskih kemijskih supstancija, a posebno biopolimera koji su i biorazgradivi i kompostabilni, ali i biopolimera koji su bionerazgradivi. U istom razdoblju su i proizvođači polimera na bazi fosilnih sirovina razvili biopolimere koji su biorazgradivi, a neki i kompostabilni i što je vrlo bitno kompatibilni s biopolimerima na bazi obnovljivih sirovina. Navedeni su i podaci o stanju na tržištu biopolimera na bazi obnovljivih sirovina, kao i procjene povećanja proizvodnje u sljedećih desetak godina. Pored toga ukratko su prikazane osnovne obnovljive sirovine, kao i biopolimeri koji se od njih proizvode i veze su prisutni na svjetskom tržištu. Dan je kratak prikaz biopolimera na bazi celuloze iz drveta i jednogodišnjih biljaka.

AB  - U ovom radu ispitana su svojstva poli(uretan-estar-siloksana) na bazi α,ω-dihidroksi-(etilenoksid-poli(dimetilsiloksan)-etilenoksida) (EO-PDMS-EO), 4,4'-diizocijanatodifenilmetana i alifatskog Boltorn® hiperrazgranatog poliestra druge pseudo generacije, kao umreživača. Sintetisano je pet uzoraka umreženih poliuretana sa različitim udelom mekih segmenata (EO-PDMS-EO) primenom dvostepene reakcije polimerizacije u rastvoru. Uticaj udela EO-PDMS-EO na mehanička i termička svojstva umreženih poli(uretan-estar-siloksana) ispitan je dinamičko-mehaničkom analizom (DMA), diferencijalnom skenirajućom kalorimetrijom (DSC) i merenjem tvrdoće. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da smanjenje udela EO-PDMS-EO utiče na povećanje stepena mikrofazne separacije sintetisanih uzoraka. Istovremeno dolazi do povećanja gustine umrežavanja, heterogenosti mreže i poboljšanja mehaničkih svojstava umreženih poli(uretan-estar-siloksana). Korišćenjem DMA određene su vrednosti temperature ostakljivanja mekih i tvrdih segmenata, kao i temperature koje odgovaraju sekundarnom relaksacionom procesu. Rezultati prikazani u ovom radu ukazuju da se kombinacijom makrodiola na bazi poli(dimetilsiloksana), hiperrazgranatog poliola i odgovarajućeg diizocijanata mogu sintetisati umreženi poliuretanski materijali odgovarajućih termičkih i mehaničkih svojstava za tačno određenu namenu.
AB  - Properties of poly(urethane-ester-siloxane)s based on α,ω-dihydroxy-(ethylene oxide-poly(dimethylsiloxane)-ethylene oxide) (EO-PDMS-EO), 4,4'-methylenediphenyl diisocyanate and aliphatic Boltorn® hyperbranched polyester of the second pseudo generation as crosslinking agent were investigated in this work. Five samples of polyurethane networks having different soft segment (EO-PDMS-EO) content were synthesized using two-step polymerization reaction in solution. The effect of EO-PDMS-EO content on the mechanical and thermal properties of poly(urethane-ester-siloxane) networks was investigated using dynamic mechanical analysis 
(DMA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and hardness measurements. Obtained results revealed that decrease of EO-PDMS-EO content enhanced microphase separation in the synthesized networks. Simultaneously, increase of the hard segment content improved mechanical properties and induced increase of the crosslinking density and network heterogeneity of poly(urethane-ester-siloxane)s. DMA results revealed existence of two glass transition temperatures, of the soft and hard segments and the presence of secondary relaxation process. Results presented in this work indicate that this specific combination of poly(dimethylsiloxane)-based macrodiol, hyperbranched polyol and adequate diisocyanate can be applied to obtain polyurethane networks of good thermal and mechanical properties, which can be relatively easily 
tailored for exact application requirements by changing soft/hard segment ratio.

AB  - Two series of crosslinked poly(urethane-ester-siloxane)s were synthesized from α,ω-dihydroxy-(ethylene oxide-poly(dimethylsiloxane)-ethylene oxide) (EO-PDMS- -EO), 4,4'-methylenediphenyl diisocyanate and Boltorn® hyperbranched polyesters of the second and third pseudo generation, by two-step polymerization in solution. The effect of the EO-PDMS-EO content and functionality of the applied crosslinking agent on the morphology and surface properties of the prepared poly(urethane-ester-siloxane)s was investigated by FTIR spectroscopy, small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and water absorption measurement. Different techniques (FTIR peak deconvolution, SAXS and AFM) revealed that decrease of the crosslinking agent functionality and EO-PDMS-EO content promotes microphase separation in the synthesized poly(urethane-ester-siloxane)s. SEM analysis and water absorption experiments showed that, due to the hydrophobic character of EO-PDMS-EO and its ability to migrate to the surface of poly(urethane-ester-siloxane)s, samples synthesized with higher EO-PDMS-EO content and crosslinking agents of lower functionality had more hydrophobic surfaces and better waterproof performances. The obtained results indicate that the synthesis of poly(urethane-ester-siloxane)s based on EO-PDMS-EO and Boltorn® hyperbranched polyesters leads to the creation of networks with interesting morphological and surface properties, which can be easily tailored by changing the content of EO-PDMS-EO segment or functionality of hyperbranched polyester.
AB  - U ovom radu sintetisane su dve serije umreženih poli(uretan-estar-siloksana) (PUS) korišćenjem α,ω-dihidroksi-(etilenoksid-poli(dimetilsiloksan)-etilenoksida) (EO-PDMS-EO), 4,4'-diizocijanatodifenilmetana i dva Boltorn® hiperrazgranata poliestra (HRP) druge i treće pseudo generacije kao umreživača. Svaka serija se sastoji od uzoraka koji imaju različiti udeo mekog segmenta (EO-PDMS-EO). Uticaj funkcionalnosti korišćenog HRP i udela mekog segmenta na morfologiju i površinska svojstva PUS ispitan je primenom FTIR spektroskopije, SAXS, AFM i SEM analize i merenjem količine apsorbovane vode. Pokazano je da sa smanjenjem funkcionalnosti umreživača i udela EO-PDMS-EO dolazi do povećanja stepena mikrofaznog razdvajanja kod sintetisanih PUS. Pored toga, uzorci PUS sa većim udelom mekog segmenta i sintetisani primenom HRP niže funkcionalnosti pokazuju bolju otpornost na vodu.

Doprinos održivom razvoju primenom i recikliranjem ambalaže od polimernih materijala

AB  - U poslednjih dvadesetak godina došlo je do naglog porasta primene
polimernih materijala za izradu ambalaže praktično svih vrsta proizvoda, a naročito
prehrambenih, kozmetičkih i farmaceutskih. I pored toga, u svetu, a i kod nas, dosta
često se čuju ideje da polimerni materijali zadovoljavaju sve tehničke i ekonomske
uslove, ali zbog toga što ne mogu da se uklope u kružni tok materije u prirodi oni
zagađuju čovekovu sredinu i samim tim ne zadovoljavaju ekološke uslove, pa ih ne
treba koristiti za izradu ambalaže, a naročito ne za pakovanje životnih namirnica.
U okviru ovoga rada ukazano je na neke rezultate ostvarene u svetu na polju
ekologije i ekonomije primenom i recikliranjem ambalaže od polimernih materijala,
kao i njen doprinos održivom razvoju. Na osnovu do sada ostvarenih rezultata
očekuje se da će primena ambalaže od polimernih materijala u nerazvijenim
zemljama, i to naročito za pakovanje prehrambenih proizvoda, značajno doprineti
da se smanje razlike u stepenu razvijenosti zemalja sveta.
AB  - In the last twenty years a rapid increase occurred in the application of polymer materials for packaging of practically all types of products, especially food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Nevertheless, in the world and in Serbia as well, one can quite often hear the ideas that polymer materials satisfy all the technical and economic conditions, but because they cannot fit into the circular flow of matter in nature, they pollute the environment and therefore do not meet ecological requirements, so they should not be used for packaging, and especially not for packaging of foodstuffs. In this paper it is pointed out on some results obtained in the world in the field of ecology 
and economy by application and recycling of packaging made from polymer materials, as 
well as its contribution to the sustainable development. Based on the recent results, it is 
expected that application of packaging made from polymer materials in developing 
countries, particularly in food packaging, will significantly contribute to the reduction of 
differences in the development degree of countries.

AB  - In the last twenty years, a rapid growth in the application of polymer materials occurred in practically all fields of human activities, especially for packaging. Never the less, in the world and our country, quite often one can hear the ideas that polymer materials satisfy all the technical and economic requirements, but because they cannot fit into the circular flow of matter in nature, they pollute the environment and therefore do not satisfy the environmental criteria, so they should not be used for example, for packaging and in particular not for food packaging. In the first part of this article the reasons which led to the pollution of our planet earth are pointed out and also what is done in order to preserve the environment and to accept and introduce into the life ideas of sustainable development. In the second part it is shown, on selected examples, in which amount application of polymer materials based on fossil or renewable raw materials contributes to sustainable development. It is also shown that by recycling of polymer waste into new materials and raw materials or its combustion, significant savings in raw materials and energy can be achieved, which further contributes to sustainable development. In addition, polymer materials have significantly contributed to the rapid development of many technologies, such as: technology of transport vehicles production, construction, electronics and electrotechnics, graphic techniques, textiles, sports equipment and in a specific manner contributed to the reduced consumption of raw materials, energy and CO2 emission. Based on the presented data it can be concluded that the polymer materials are environmentally friendly, which is one of the reason for planned annual polymer production growth of 4 to 8% in the next twenty years.
AB  - U poslednjih dvadesetak godina došlo je do naglog porasta primene polimernih materijala u praktično svim oblastima ljudskih delatnosti, a naročito za izradu ambalaže. I pored toga, u svetu, a i kod nas, dosta često se čuju ideje da polimerni materijali zadovoljavaju sve tehničke i ekonomske uslove, ali zbog toga što ne mogu da se uklope u kružni tok materije u prirodi oni zagađuju životnu sredinu i samim tim ne zadovoljavaju ekološke kriterijume, pa ih ne treba koristiti npr. za izradu ambalaže, a naročito ne ambalaže za pakovanje životnih namirnica. U prvom delu ovoga rada ukazano je na razloge koji su doveli do zagađenja naše planete zemlje i šta se čini u cilju očuvanja životne sredine i prihvatanju i uvođenju u život ideje o održivom razvoju. U drugom delu rada je na izabranim primerima pokazano koliki doprinos održivom razvoju se ostvaruje primenom polimernih materijala na bazi fosilnih ili obnovljivih sirovina. Pokazano je takođe da se recikliranjem polimernog otpada u nove materijale i sirovine ili njegovim sagorevanjem mogu ostvariti značajne uštede u sirovinama i energiji i tako dodatno doprineti održivom razvoju. Pored toga, polimerni materijali su značajno uticali na ubrzan razvoj velikog broja tehnologija, kao što su npr: tehnologija proizvodnje transportnih sredstava, građevinarstva, elektronike i elektrotehnike, grafičke tehnike, tekstila, sportske opreme i tako na jedan specifičan način doprineli smanjenoj potrošnji sirovina, energije i emisije CO2. Na osnovu prikazanih podataka može se zaključiti da su polimerni materijali ekološki materijali i da je to jedan od razloga što je za polimerne materijale za sledećih dvadeset godina predviđen godišnji porast proizvodnje od 4 do 8 %.

AB  - Rheological (in solution and in melt) and thermal properties of aliphatic hydroxy-functional Boltorn® hyperbranched polyesters of different pseudo generation were investigated in this work. The obtained results show that 40 wt.% solutions of Boltorn® samples in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinon exhibit Newtonian behaviour at 30 oC and that zero shear viscosity increases with increase of the  generation number, i.e. molar mass. On the other side, vales of the Tg show only slight increase with increase of the molar mass. Thermal stability of investigated samples increases with increase of the number of generation.

AB  - Rheological behavior in melt of aliphatic hyperbranched polyesters (AHBP), synthesized using pseudo-one-step and one-step procedure, was investigated in this work. Three commercially available AHBP were also examined. Because of the presence of relatively strong hydrogen bonds between numerous end hydroxyl groups, AHBP of lower generation number, as well as the sample of tenth pseudo generation, show non-Newtonian behavior in the entire investigated frequency and temperature region. However, for other examined AHBP, the slope of the frequency dependence of complex viscosity (g* ¼ f(x)) becomes smaller with the temperature increase. Therefore, samples of fourth, fifth, and sixth pseudo generations show Newtonian behavior at temperatures higher than 70 C. Value of glass transition temperature, melt flow activation energy, fractional free volume, and thermal expansion coefficient were determined for the investigated AHBP. The influence of the type of end groups on rheological properties of AHBP was also examined.

Different pseudo generations of these three-dimensional polymers were synthesized via an acid-catalyzed polyesterification of 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid (bis-MPA) and di-trimethylolpropane (DiTMP) using two different procedures: pseudo one-step (samples of the series I) and one-step (samples of the series II). In pseudo one-step procedure the sample of certain pseudo generation was obtained starting from the sample of previous pseudo generation and adequate amount of monomer, while in simple one-step procedure polymer of the wanted pseudo generation was synthesized by mixing the stoichometric amount of all necessary reactants at once. Beside these samples, three commercial Boltorn® AHBP synthesized by pseudo one-step procedure were also investigated. Results obtained by NMR, MALDI-TOF MS and VPO show that formation of poly(bis-MPA) and cyclization through the ester and ether bonds (intramolecular) occurred as side reactions during the both procedures for the synthesis. With increasing degree of polymerization, the extent of these unwanted reactions increased and it was slightly higher when one-step procedure was applied for the preparation of AHBP samples. During the synthesis of AHBP from second till fifth pseudo generation, cyclization occurred through ester and ether bonds (intramolecular), while in the case of the higher generation samples, cycles were formed due to the intramolecular esterification. Furthermore, –OH groups belonging to the terminal units had better reactivity than linear ones. Consequently, the degree of branching for all investigated samples is lower than 0.50. Due to the side reactions occurrence, molar mass increases only up to the sixth pseudo generation and values of the molar masses are much lower than theoretical. From the obtained results it was also possible to calculate the percentage of deviation from the perfect dendrimer structure for AHBP samples of the series I and II.

AB  - In this paper, two samples of polyurethane (PU) crosslinked with hydroxy -functonal hyperbranched aliphatic polyester of the second pseudo generation were investigated. For the synthesis of these crosslinked PUs two different macrodiols were used: poly(tetramethyleneoxide) (PTMO) for PUPTMO and ethylene oxide-poly(dimethylsiloxane)-ethylene oxide (PDMS-EO) for PUPDMS-EO sample. Synthesized samples behave as elastomers and have yellow color. Obtained results show that swelling degree of the sample PUPDMS-EO in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinon (NMP) determined at room temperature is higher than for the sample PUPTMO. It has been also observed that thermal properties of these polyurethane networks can be changed by incorporation of siloxane sequences in their structure.
AB  - U ovom radu su prikazani rezultati dobijeni ispitivanjem dva uzorka poliuretana (PU) umrežena hidroksi-funkcionalnim hiperrazgranatim alifatskim poliestrom druge pseudo generacije. Pri sintezi ovih umreženih PU korišćena su dva različita makrodiola: poli(tetrametilenoksid) (PTMO) za sintezu uzorka PUPTMO i etilenoksid-poli(dimetilsiloksan)- etilenoksid (PDMS-EO) za sintezu uzorka PUPDMS-EO. Sintetizovani uzorci se ponašaju kao elastomeri i imaju žuto obojenje. Određivanjem stepena bubrenja u N-metil-2-pirolidonu (NMP) pri sobnoj temperaturi pokazano je da uzorak PUPDMS-EO ima veći stepen bubrenja od uzorka PUPTMO. Primenom termogravimetrije konstatovano je da se uvođenjem siloksanskih sekvenci u korišćeni makrodiol može uticati na termička svojstva sintetizovanih umreženih poliuretana.

AB  - U okviru ovog rada prikazani su rezultati ispitivanja opsega sporednih proizvoda (ciklika) kod hidroksi-funkcionalnih alifatskih hiperrazgranatih poliestara primenom MALDI-TOF masene spektrometrije. Istovremeno su opisani i osnovni principi MALDI-TOF masene spektrometrije i dat je kratak literaturni pregled.
AB  - In this work, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry was used for the characterization of aliphatic hyperbranched polyesters (AHBP), synthesized from 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid (bis-MPA) and di-trimethylolpropane. From the obtained results it was concluded that it was not possible to take complete advantages of MALDI-TOF MS in this particular case, since the AHBP used in this work were polydisperse. The intensity of the signals from the high mass tail of these samples (pseudo generation higher than four) was underestimated and insufficient to distinguish it from the baseline and to use it for the analysis of the spectra. As a consequence of that, lower values of the Mn were obtained. At the same time, Mw were also underestimated, which led to very low values of the polydispersity index. On the other hand, it was possible to obtain molar masses of individual molecules from the MALDI-TOF mass spectra of AHBP and to qualitatively determine the extent of cyclization (side reactions) at each degree of polymerization. Using the adequate set of equations and results obtained from MALDI-TOF mass spectra of AHBP, every signal from the spectra was identified. The obtained results show that formation of poly(bis-MPA), intramolecular esterification and intramolecular etherification occurred as side reactions during the synthesis of these polyesters. The relative amount of the cycles increases with the number of pseudo generation (from the second up to the fifth pseudo generation). It was also observed that the relative proportion of the signals which represent cyclic structures increases with the increasing degree of polymerization. In this work the basic principles of MALDI-TOF MS are also presented, as well as, a review of adequate published articles.

AB  - In this study results obtained from the rheological investigation of concentrated solutions of aliphatic hyperbranched polyesters (AHBP) in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinon (NMP) are presented. Two series of hydroxy-functional AHBP have been synthesized starting from 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid (AB2 monomer) and di-trimethylolpropane (B4 functional core) using  pseudo-one-step or one-step procedure. Beside these samples, three commercial Boltorn® AHBP are also investigated. Obtained results indicate that concentrated solutions (c ≤ 45 mass %) of all investigated AHBP show Newtonian behaviour in NMP at all measured temperatures. However, 50 and 55 mass % solutions of all AHBP in NMP at temperatures T ≤ 50 0C show shear thinning behaviour. For all investigated AHBP flow activation energies have been calculated. The influence of the procedure for the synthesis, concentration and temperature on rheological behaviour of AHBP concentrated solutions in NMP at temperature region between 10 0C and 50 0C is discussed.

AB  - In this study results of thermal degradation of aliphatic hyperbranched polyesters, AHBP, and their derivatives, determined by non-isothermal thermogravimetric analysis in inert atmosphere (N2) are presented. The thermal stability of linear polyester PHPA (polyhydroxypivalic acid), additionally synthesized from hydroxypivalic acid, was also studied. AHBP samples, from second to tenth pseudo-generation, were synthesized starting from 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid and di-trimethylolpropane. Modification of some selected AHBP samples was accomplished with the propionyl and benzoyl chloride, as well as with stearic acid. Thermal degradation of AHBP samples starts in the region between 250 °C and 275 °C and it ends around 430 °C. The thermal stability of AHBP samples increases with the number of end groups in the macromolecule, as well as with the modification of end groups with stearic acid and propionyl chloride. An AHBP sample of the fourth pseudo-generation, where all –OH end groups are modified with benzoyl chloride, shows lower thermal stability than the corresponding unmodified sample. The thermal stability of the linear polyester PHPA is lower than the thermal stability of the AHBP samples of the similar molar mass. The activation energies of thermal degradation for all synthesized AHBP samples were also calculated.

Termička stabilnost alifatskih hiperrazgranatih poliestara

AB  - U okviru ovog rada prikazani su rezultati dobijeni izučavanjem uticaja molarne mase (generacije), broja krajnjih grupa, kao i vrste krajnjih grupa na termičku stabilnost alifatskih hiperrazgranatih poliestara (AHP). Vrsta krajnjih grupa je menjana modifikovanjem sintetizovanih hiperrazgranatih poliestara sa hloridom propionske kiseline i stearinskom kiselinom. Termička stabilnost ispitivanih uzoraka je određivana merenjem promene mase uzorka sa temperaturom pomoću instrumenta NETZSCH TG 209 u atmosferi azota pri brzini zagrevanja od 10 oC. Poređenjem temperatura pri gubitku mase od 5, 20 i 40 mas.% za ispitivane nemodifikovane uzorke AHP, očitanih sa termogravimetrijskih krivih, konstantovano je da njihova termička stabilnost blago raste do četvrte generacije, a zatim ostaje praktično konstantna. Modifikovanjem krajnjih hidroksilnih grupa uzoraka AHP druge, treće i četvrte generacije sa propionskom i stearinskom kiselinom termička stabilnost uzoraka se blago povećava.
AB  - The influence of the molar mass (generation), number and type of end groups on the thermal stability of aliphatic hyperbranched polyesters are presented in this study. Different end groups were obtained by modification of the samples with chlorides of propionic acid and stearic acid. AB  - In this study, the influence of the type and content of inert component in the reaction mixture on the properties of crosslinked macroporous copolymers of 4-vinyl pyridine and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, poly (4-VP-co-EGDMA), synthesized by suspension copolymerization was studied. n-Heptane, n-octane, n-nonane, octanol and dodecanol were used the inert component. The porosity parameters of the synthesized copolymers were determined by mercury porosimetry. Morphology of copolymer particles was characterized by scanning electron microscopy. It was shown that all the synthesized poly (4-VP-co-EGDMA) samples have globular structure. Additionaly, our results showed that it was possible to influence the size of the globules, their agglomeration and spatial arrangements and also the porosity parameters of the synthesized copolymers by the changing type and ratio of the inert component in the reaction mixture.
AB  - U okviru ovoga rada prikazani su rezultati dobijeni izučavanjem uticaja vrste i udela inertne komponente u reakcionoj smeši na svojstava umreženog makro-poroznog kopolimera 4-vinilpiridina i etilenglikoldimetakrilata, poli(4-VP-co-EGDMA), sintetizovanog suspenzionom kopolimerizacijom. U svojstvu inertne komponente korišćeni su: n-heptan, n-oktan, n-nonan, oktanol i dodekanol. Parametri porozne strukture sintetizovanih kopolimera su određivani metodom živine porozimetrije, a morfologija pomoću skenirajućeg elektronskog mikroskopa. Pokazano je da svi sintetizovani uzorci poli(4-VP-co-EGDMA) imaju globularnu strukturu i da se izmenom vrste i udela inertne komponente u reakcionoj smeši može uticati na veličinu globula, njihovu aglomeraciju i raspodelu aglomerata u prostoru, a samim tim i na parametre porozne strukture sintetizovanih kopolimera.

AB  - In this paper, the results obtained during extensive research on the synthesis, properties and application of cross linked copolymers, performed at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy (Department of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry) and at the IChTM (Center for Catalysis and Chemical Engineering and Center for Chemistry) are summarized. According to the obtained results, changes in the composition of the inert component and the content, type and amount of the crosslinking agent, as well as the type of copolymerization reaction, all strongly influence the porosity parameters of the synthesized macroporous copolymers. Also, it was shown that the synthesized copolymers of glycidyl methacrylate, GMA, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, EGDMA, modified with ethylene diamine can be used for the selective sorption of gold and platinum from mixed solutions containing copper, cobalt and nickel ions.
AB  - U okviru ovoga rada prikazani su rezultati dobijeni u toku višegodišnjeg izučavanja sinteze, svojstava i primene makroporoznih umreženih kopolimera na bazi metakrilata, koja su obavljena pri Katedri za fizičku hemiju i elektrohemiju Tehnološko-metalurškog fakulteta u Beogradu, Centra za katalizu i hemijsko inženjerstvo i Centra za hemiju Instituta za hemiju, tehnologiju i metalurgiju u Beogradu. Pokazano je da se izmenom sastava i udela inertne komponente, vrste i udela umreživača, kao i načina izvođenja reakcije kopolimerizacije može bitno uticati na parametre porozne strukture sintetizovanih umreženih makroporoznih kopolimera i na taj način njihova svojstva prilagoditi različitim potrebama. Pokazano je takođe da se sintetizovani kopolimeri glicidilmetakrilata i etilenglikoldimetakrilata obrađeni sa etilendiaminom mogu uspešno koristiti za selektivno izdvajanje platine iz mešanih rastvora sa jonima bakra, kobalta i nikla.
