AB - Today, there are few activities in which information and communication technologies do not
play a direct or indirect role. In fact, they represent the 'nerves and arteries' of modern society,
facilitating and supporting global flows of information, ideas, and services. In this way,
geoinformation systems (GIS), as modern information technologies, directly impact the
processing and utilization of spatial data.
Considering the fact that GIS is continuously expanding and improving, today it can be applied
in various fields that involve information related to space, as well as in the decision-making
processes related to them. It can be utilized by all institutions and companies dealing with space
management and exploitation in any way, including urban planning, construction land, road and
railway networks, water supply, sewage, power distribution, gas distribution,
telecommunications, district heating, ecology, landscaping, agriculture, forestry, and more.
Quantum GIS (QGIS) is the leading open source GIS desktop application which belongs to and
is developed by Open-Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo). With many plugins developed
by user community, QGIS offers vast variety of different functions for working with vector and
raster spatial data, and also non-geographical data.
Without delving further into this wide field, in this paper we will describe the Information system of the company "13th july-plantaže", which main activity is wine grapes and wine production, through a specific project of new vineyards data acquisition, analysis and display,
completed in the previous period using the QGIS software package, along with suggestions for
its improvement.

AB - The paper analyzes the approximation of the ellipsoid by the sphere. Earth is a space body with a mathematically irregular shape, so idealized smooth surfaces are used for calculations. The first is the geoid, a smooth, equipotential surface that best approximates mean sea level. However, the geoid does not have an analytical form and is unsuitable for many applications, so an ellipsoid is used for approximation. In applications where high accuracy is not required (e.g., with small scale maps), the ellipsoid is approximated by a sphere. The radius of the sphere can be calculated in three ways: according to the equivalent volume criterion, according to the equivalent surface criterion, or as the mean value of the three semi-axes of the ellipsoid. All three methods of approximation were tested by calculating the length of the geodetic line on the ellipsoid, the orthodrome on the spheres and then the error. Also, the influence of latitude on the error value was tested. For three different values of geographic latitude, the lengths of geodetic lines up to one hundred points were calculated (using the Bessel method for solving the second main geodetic task on the ellipsoid), as well as the lengths of the orthodromes on the spheres, with the radii of the spheres determined in the three mentioned ways. The obtained results were then analyzed and discussed.

AB - This paper presents GIS/3D solutions and their application in agriculture. Further, the possibilities of obtaining information important for planning the development of viticulture, fruit growing and farming are analysed and presented. Until now, maps have been most commonly used as models for terrain analysis. The main weaknesses of the maps are content freezing and difficult 3D analysis. With the advent of geoinformation technologies, the way of processing is changing and the concept of GIS/3D data modelling is being emphasized. The aim of this paper are new solutions that provide an efficient opportunity in field analysis and resource management in agriculture. An algorithm has been designed where, based on the given criteria (terrain slope, aspekt, vegetation index, altitude), representations of potential areas for growing certain crops are obtained. The results show numerous possibilities of GIS methodology for agricultural crop management, in this specific case of viticulture, arable farming and fruit growing. Also, the results in the form of geostatistical maps provide a more precise insight and serve as a basis for better decision-making in agriculture. The area of interest includes the Srem district, which is located in the northern part of the Republic of Serbia. This district is a resource of great importance for the further development of agriculture, of which viticulture and fruit growing are of special importance. For planning the development of agriculture in an area, it is necessary to have information related to both the assessment of land suitability and land valuation for certain agricultural species in order to be able to assign the optimal purpose.

AB - This paper deals with the problem of Bessel procedures and processes in solving the main geodetic problems on an ellipsoid. There are a number of methods for solving the main geodetic tasks on the Earth's ellipsoid. They can be grouped into three categories, ie models for: short distances (up to 200 km), medium distances (200 to 1000 km) and long distances (over 1000 km). The aim of this paper is the application of the methodology for solving the main geodetic tasks for all distances on the eelipsoid, ie the application of one universal method. Since this method is iterative, the modern way of its implementation is a significant relief compared to its application in the past when there were no software designs and automated procedures. From the obtained results and length values, numerous analysis and conclusions can be derived, ie, process monitoring and error growth trend with increasing distance.

AB - The quality of DEMs is especially being considered based on the spatial resolution of the created digital models and the type of terrain of the interest area. DEM analysis was performed specifically for LiDAR-based DEMs, as well as a comparison with results obtained using the radar recording method (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission). The application of DEM data for security-sensitive systems requires the fulfillment of security requirements, such as authenticity, integrity, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. For this purpose, the authors have developed a model for non-repudiation and protecting DEM data. The model simulation shows it is possible to detect even the smallest changes made in the transmission or the DEM location, as well as proving the data authenticity and non-repudiation of the sender. DEM data security testing has shown that DEM data is effectively protected from the source of origin to the end entity location.

abstract = "The quality of DEMs is especially being considered based on the spatial resolution of the created digital models and the type of terrain of the interest area. DEM data security testing has shown that DEM data is effectively protected from the source of origin to the end entity location.",

AB - The main focus of the paper is the
assessment of the quality of the 3D terrain
models obtained from the images of
unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Quality
and detailed terrain models are necessary,
above all, for precise determination of
changes in the area of excavation. The
quality analysis of the 3D model includes
the degree of deviation of geometric and
geomorphological characteristics from the
actual terrain position and status in
nature. To determine the geometric
accuracy, a comparative method of testing
is used, ie a comparison of the measured
values of the 3D model with the data of
well-defined geodetic and control points a
posteriori measured using the Global
Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).
Analysis of quality and comparisons are
performed visually, numerically, by
calculating the excavation volume and
creating a terrain profile. The results
suggest that the 3D models obtained from
the UAV images are of very high quality.
Also, an important advantage of using
UAV images to generate 3D models in the
excavation area is their efficiency, for
example, more frequent updating and
measuring the height of inaccessible
terrain and determining local changes in
the terrain..
AB - Glavni fokus rada je procjena kvaliteta 3D
modela terena dobijenih iz snimaka bespilotnih
letjelica (UAV). Kvalitetni i detaljni modeli
terena neophodni su, prije svega, za precizno
određivanje promjena na području iskopa
zemljišta. Analiza kvaliteta 3D modela
uključuje stepen odstupanja geometrijskih i
geomorfoloških karakteristika od stvarnog
položaja terena i statusa u prirodi. Za
određivanje geometrijske tačnosti primjenjuje
se uporedni način ispitivanja, odnosno
poređenje izmjerenih vrijednosti 3D modela sa
podacima dobro definisanih geodetskih i
kontrolnih tačaka a posteriori mjerenih
primjenom Globalnih Navigacionih Satelitskih
Sistema (GNSS). Analiza kvaliteta i poređenja
se obavljaju vizualno, numerički,
sračunavanjem zapremine iskopa i izradom
profila terena. Rezultati sugerišu da su 3D
modeli dobijeni iz snimaka UAV-a veoma
kvalitetni. Takođe, važna prednost korišćenja
slika UAV-a za generisanje 3D modela na
području iskopa je njihova efikasnost, na
primjer, češće ažuriranje i mjerenje visina
nepristupačnog terena i određivanje lokalnih
promjena na terenu.

AB - The article deals with the length differences between georeference
surfaces within the state coordinate system of Serbia. It’s an
analysis starting from the topography, through geoid and ellipsoid,
to the map projection. During the literature review, analyses
of the length changes from topography to the state map projection
for the geographic territory of Serbia were not found. The
set of initial data consists DEM and the geoid model, as well as
vector data that contain the boundary of the research area.
Calculation will be performed on the basis of 88439 points of
grids, located at a distance of 1 km, while the analysis will be
done by comparing average deformations, extreme deformation
values, percentage of positive and negative values of deformations,
as well as percentage of length without deformations. The
aim of this research is to provide a set of data on length differences
that covers the entire territory of Serbia.

AB - In this paper several well-known filtering techniques were compared in the purpose of automatic line generalization. The used methods for line simplification are digital first order low-pass filter, Savitzky-Golay (SG) filter and Whittaker filter. Two versions of the algorithm for line feature generalization were tested, from source scale 1:25 000 towards target scale of 1:100 000 and from source scale 1:25 000 towards scale of 1:50 000. Also, GPS data filtering for the target scale 1:50 000 was tested. The first version of the algorithm considers that there are no control data, and the filtering parameter is dictated by the desired accuracy for the target scale. The second version involves control data in the target scale. This means that the optimal value for the filtering parameter is the value for which the difference between input and control data is the smallest. Analysis showed that the SG filter yielded the best results in general. The proposed filters can be considered as a new solution for automated cartographic line simplification.

AB - The paper discusses the concept of construction and monitoring of
capacity changes - the volume of the "Garajevac-Istok" excavation
(mine), located in the cadastral municipality of Novi Bečej. Namely, in
the earlier period, the physical surface of the Earth and geospace in
general were shown two-dimensionally (2D), in a plane, by some of
the cartographic methods (contour lines, points heights, hypsometry)
or three-dimensionally (3D), by modeling of reliefs and relief cards.
The cartographic principles of terrain making and visualizing on relief
mapping models allow the creation of 3D views, but not enough
quality and engineering precise 3D terrain models. In addition, there
is a possibility of quantitative and qualitative assessment of the
terrain on the mentioned models not to be accurate enough.
With new technologies, the 3D geospatial display mode changes, and
the concept of digital terrain modeling (DTM) is being applied. The
main goal of the work is to create 3D models and to give an analysis of
the "Garajevac-Istok" mine for a certain period of exploitation
Osnovni cilj rada jeste kreiranje 3D modela i uporedna analiza kubature kopa 'Garajevac - istok' za određeni period eksploatacije.

capacity changes - the volume of the "Garajevac-Istok" excavation

AB - The ionic content was examined in nine aqueous tea extracts in which time of boiling, acidification of the medium using lemon juice and way of preparation were observed as factors. Ion chromatography was used for determination of inorganic anion content, and data were processed using CANOCO program for multivariate analysis. The variations in ionic content were observed among different tea samples. The highest concentrations of chloride, nitrate, phosphate, and sulphate ions were found in nettle, while the highest concentrations of fluorides were detected in elderflower tea infusion. The effect of boiling time (5, 10, and 20 min), acidification of the medium and different preparation procedure (boiling and cooling at room temperature) were statistically presented using principal component analysis. The examined factors did not have a significant effect on the ionic concentration in tea infusions.

AB - The development and improvement of the monitoring system of rivers according to the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) is essential for all European states because assigning a wrong ecological status class (misclassification) to a water body can have significant economic consequences. In order to point out some of the key issues of WFD implementation in Serbia, we conducted a one-year study of the composition and abundance of diatoms in the phytobenthos in two streams, the Lasovacka and Lenovacka, in eastern Serbia. The physicochemical quality elements were also used in the assessment of their ecological status. The diatom community exhibited a higher species richness in the Lasovacka (88 taxa) than in the Lenovacka stream (63 taxa). Such a detailed study enabled us to record some of the rare taxa, e.g. Caloneis budensis in the Lasovacka, which was the first finding of this species in Serbia. The Lasovacka and Lenovacka streams were downgraded to moderate and poor ecological status, respectively, because of the high nitrogen load. Since the monitoring results based on the diatom indices resulted in the assignment of two streams to a good ecological status, the possible reason for the mismatch between the biological and physicochemical quality elements could be due to the lack of analysis of benthic invertebrate fauna or the application of diatom indices that are insufficiently sensitive to the specific environmental pressure. The results of this study show that conducting a comprehensive ecological investigation of rivers within the framework of the WFD in Serbia is urgently needed.

AB - The explored area of Banat, located in NE Serbia, with its geological and geothermal characteristics, represents an area with extraordinary ecological potential. The geological structure of Banat is represented by various complexes of Neogene and Quaternary deposits. The Neogene sediments are mostly composed of sandstone, shale, marlstone, sand and gravel. Mesozoic igneous complex is represented by dacites, andesites and basalts. During Quaternary a relatively thick succession of genetically different types of sediments was deposited. Pleistocene and Holocene aeolian sand and loess and fluvial sandy-clayey alevrites, clays, sands and gravel cover the large area. Thickness and lithological composition of crust and lithosphere, as well as character, types and age of tectonic movements and magmatism decisively influence the content of radioactive elements (uranium, thorium and potassium) in the rocks. Nevertheless, the geothermal characteristics of a particular area are influenced in a significant extent by seismicity and hydrogeological properties. The small thickness of the crust and lithosphere, as a result of various geodynamic movements, during the lower and middle Miocene, classify the Pannonian Basin, and therefore the Banat area, among the most promising geothermal areas in Europe. The favorable geothermal characteristics of Banat also show high average values of geothermal gradient and terrestrial heat flux.

AB - A source of thermo-mineral water of Vranjska spa is of great importance for environmental protection of rural settlements. Wealthy mineral water composition and the temperature of 93°C are very suitable for the spa tourism development. Capacity of the water source allows appications in industry as well as in food production. Geographical position, developed road network, vicinity to the highway and consumers attainability allow economic development of Vranje region, to whom population from other regions gravitates. The location of the borehole for water exploitation is in the center of Vranjska spa, consisted of tertiary sediments of Vranjska basin. The presence of volcano-sedimentary rocks and deep rift structures indicate a potential perspective of the area as a geothermal energy source. Although the potential of Vranjska spa is still insufficiently exploited in this asspect due to the fact that the resources of fossil fuel are being rapidly depleted, this situation is going be changed in near future and therefore is the subject of our research.

AB - Based on the results of geological-geophysical surveys and structural drillings, the promising area was allocated, in terms of geothermal energy, which is important for the development of tourism, industrial and agricultural facilities in rural villages in Vojvodina. The exploration area includes the Southern edge of the Pannonian Basin. Small thickness of the earth's crust-lithosphere places the Pannonian basin, among the most promising geothermal areas in Europe. The use of renewable energy sources - geothermal energy is of the importantance, regarding to the reduction in reserve of fossil fuels and the impact of emissions on the global warming.
Among the main factors which are affecting the formal assessment of the potential for geothermal energy are low competitive prices of fossil fuels, inadequate legislation and a lack of finance.

AB - The paper describes some experiences and the methodology used for evaluation the vertical accuracy of data on the official (state) topographic maps. The vertical accuracy is an important element of quality 3D representation on the topographic maps in digital, as well as in analogous forms. A comparative way of testing is usually applied for determining the vertical accuracy, namely the comparison of the measured values of topographic maps with 'true' or 'conditionally true' values (numeric data of the geodetic and height points). This method gives a direct accuracy assessment of the printed maps and 3D terrain models, especially when used in industries such as mining. To a large extent, the vertical accuracy of data and geomorphology (geographic) fidelity relief on the topographic maps is not always sufficient quality. The type of survey and how the matter affects the quality, or the geodetic control points are drawn precisely, where the accuracy of the contour lines is lower. However, the application of a new technology is changes the 3D visualization of terrain, thus increasing the vertical accuracy of data.

AB - In the paper is described the process of creating digital terrain models (DTM) using different interpolation methods. The analyses show the accuracy of the DTM obtained from topographic maps at different scales and using different interpolation methods. The quality and accuracy of DTM depends on the complexity of the terrain, data sources, and methods of height interpolation. The basic idea is the creation of the DTM for the selected area and the comparison of the results by applying appropriate interpolation methods. The aim of the research is to analyse the quality of the DTM model and to consider suitability of certain interpolation methods, based on the obtained results, i.e. their advantages and disadvantages. The experiment was done in the software environment ERDAS IMAGINE 2014.

abstract = "In the paper is described the process of creating digital terrain models (DTM) using different interpolation methods. The experiment was done in the software environment ERDAS IMAGINE 2014.",

AB - This paper describes the concepts of 3D terrain models and their application in mining. The methods of terrain (relief) by spots elevation and contour lines are commonly applied on geodetic plans and topographic maps. Appearance of the technologies has changed the way of modeling and analysis of geospatial data, i.e., applying the concept of digital terrain models (DTM). This approach emphasizes the importance of geomorphometric analyses and monitoring changes on the field in time. Application of 3D geodata models in digital format (raster or vector) becomes increasingly used in mining. Therefore, it is important to describe the concepts and features of 3D geodata models and potential applications and monitoring changes in the field in time and space.

AB - The article deals with finding the optimal map conic projection which, according to the criteria of the minimum of distortions, would be more appropriate than the available and, up to the present point in time, generally used conic map projections. Apart from the best map projection, the paper also describes other conic projections still used in the official cartography of Serbia. In the paper, the size of the deformations is analysed and shown in case of the Modified polyconic projection and the Lambert conic projection on the example of a geographical map at scale 1: 1000 000. Namely, the size of the linear deformations is analysed and shown in all cases. One of them, the fifth example of the Lambert conformal conic projection, is the most favourable in terms of size and distribution of the deformations upon the entire surface of mapping. Examples of real conformal conic projections are made with numerical procedures in the program package MATLAB.

AB - Presence of iron and manganese in water not only affects the organoleptic properties of water, but
also can cause a number of problems in drinking water treatments. Their removal in drinking water
preparation processes becomes more complicated in the presence of hydrogen sulfide and
ammonia in water. There are certain commercialized products at the market that are used for
removal of manganese, iron and ammonia, but it is of crucial importance to establish an appropriate
order of removal in the technological process during drinking water treatment. Through the
various combinations of commercialized filtration media, the removal of iron, manganese, hydrogen
sulfide and ammonia, was being examined and on the basis of obtained results their effectiveness
was estimated. Research results have shown that hydrogen sulfide is pollutant that causes
problems during the adsorption in removing manganes. Ammonia, which is bonded to hydrogen
sulphide influences the volume of treated water when it comes to removing the iron and
manganese. Decrease in the concentration of hydrogen sulfide at the entrance to Filtersorb FMH
for four times, has led to an increase in the volume of treated water in the amount of two times,
followed by the breakthrough point of concentration of manganese. For complete usage capacity
of commercialized products for the removal of these pollutants, finding their mutual bond in
compounds which are present in the water, is of the importance.
