Chosen ceramic materials of laboratory products important for microelectronics, microwave techniques and medical applications, have been exposed to pulsed laser beams in various regimes of operation (free generation, Q-switched and femto second regimes are included with different frequencies and number of pulses). Characteristic damages in these regimes are analyzed by the techniques of SEM, optical microscopy, micro hardness, etc. Obtained micrographs later served for image analysis by using quantification methods and corresponding tools for image processing. According to chosen processing, the information on the source itself (the laser), and power distribution in the beam, material resistance (hardness) to fluencies can be obtained.sr
