New broadband printed antenna concept is proposed, able to ensure very high operation bandwidth by simultaneously providing high gain and wide angle coverage in azimuth plane. Typical possible application scenarios are outlined. Proposed antenna topology is described, together with design rules to set radiation gain. The concept is verified by prototype of the antenna in 2.4 GHz range. Design approach is confirmed, showing measured operation bandwidth of 37%. There features allow potential application for future multiple standard base station solutions (software radio), digital wireless camera, as well as for low cost integrated antenna for mm-wave range.
